Yes. Of course there should be very strict requirements for reasonable suspicion so that people don't abuse it. Next question: Would it be any use? Not given the way our country currently handles illegals, they would be deported and would be right back here again within a few months. The horror...the horror.
Impractical, there are too many, law enforcement would be overwhelmed. But a hot line to phone in the names of employers of illegal immigrants could work, imo.
No - at this time, we can't trust the government to actively do anything about the illegals found, and it would only end up increasing our taxes.
On the other hand, the illegals have a system set up granting them free access to their senators, so I don't see why not.

At this time its in the governments best interests to have the illegals as a future voting block, so even if we have one, its like all laws that make no difference if they are not enforced. And as for the previous answer saying " you should only worry about yourself", I think that is the biggest problem America now faces. People have to care about more than just themselves or we are all going downhill.
