They can't, you are right it is a right or wrong issue. They would rather say "oh but they are us coming here doing the jobs Americans won't do " (yack cough yack cough). They would also rather say "BUT THEY DO pay taxes" (yack yack cough cough YEAH? right they pay taxes on the money they earn under the table)
We are humans limited to one planet. Artificial barriers to this planet's inhabitants moveing about freely are exactly that: artificial. Any reason you present will by definition be capricious and beyond "intelligent".
If 45 members of the US Senate think this is a good idea, there must be more to it than you realize, don't you think? Why don't you read what they have to say? They're generally not stupid, and probably not interested in rewarding people for being good wall climbers. If you want to argue intelligently, first you have to listen to what your opponent says. Check it out, then come back and tell us why they're wrong, if you still think so.

I don't see a defense at all for illegal immigration, and I will be checking back to see if anyone can come up with a darn good reason for it. I have plenty against.

Besides the old fruit and grass arguments, or the "OUR LAND RAZA garbage from Mexicans ARE... there isn't much of a leg to stand on. Besides this land was bought and paid for, so it is OUR land, and by that I mean American Citizens. Not illegals. I would like to see websites that prove how great 21 illegal immigrants are for this country.
And how much 33 billion dollars sent from the US to Mexico since Jan 2006 has "helped" this country and its economy. How much is our national debt now? And how much would that 33 billion have helped people who have a right to live here??

I can. Most of the "illegals" are that, because the US goverment do not makes easy the entry to the country, so insted of waiting ten years to get them, they just go across to get a job. MANY OF THEM RETURN TO MEXICO AFTER THE CROP SEASON IS OVER. I think if there was an easy way to get a work permit JUST FOR WORKING in the fields, or construction, more than half would live in the mexican side of the border, because it is a lot cheaper!! They have to stay in the US because CROSSING THE BORDER IT IS HARD!
You do not need a degree to pick strawberries, most "illegals" have littlle or no school, and are VERY POOR. Really, they just want to work.

There are two good arguments.
One, of course, is that the illegals are refugees. They're 'only' economic refugees, but they are fleeing bad conditions, looking for better ones. It's a matter of degree. I mean, someone moving from the Rust Belt to Silicon Valley is a refugee in the same sense.
The other is that America 'needs' the population. It's a cogent argument if you believe population growth is desireable, since, without immigration, the fertility rate of Americans is below replacement.
I don't think you can defend it. The word illegal says it all. Our economy does not depend on these workers, as the majority of their money goes back to the own country, without paying taxes, and the entitlements we pay out is a detriment to our economy. If they attempted to change the laws and protested in their own country as much as they do it here, they could have some reform and could make their own country a place they would want to stay in.

We "need" illegal aliens like we "need" another hole in the head. If we honestly needed immigrants for ANY reason, all that has to be done is INCREASE OUR LEGAL IMMIGRATION QUOTA. There are hundreds of millions if not billions of people around the world that would come here in a heartbeat if given a chance. What makes you think anybody "needs" illegal alien criminals. You say this as if we have a shortage of an "immigrant pool" to select from.this is a grossly inaccurate assumption on your part.

Defense of crime is indefensible, unless you are a defense attorney and your job requires their defense.
It is wrong to come here illegally period.
It is wrong to attempt to defend them by saying Americans commit crimes. Duh, so why add more criminally-minded individuals to the mix? Let's add law-abiding LEGAL IMMIGRANTS instead. Statistics show that less than 3.5% of US citizens are currently incarcerated. Nearly 7% of the estimated Mexican illegal aliens are incarcerated in US prisons for criminal convictions, not immigration offenses.
Some Central American nations have an even higher percentage currently incarcerated.
They just want to work. So get a job in their home nation or fight to change things there. If that doesn't work, apply to enter legally. They aren't refugees. They take far more from our economy than they could possibly give. Depress wages.
Overwhelm our education and health care systems. That's in addition to the billions of dollars taken out of our economy each year and sent to their home nations.
Our laws are too tough, so they come illegally. Pot calling the kettle black if they come from Mexico. Very tough laws there, and vigorously enforced. Very hypocritical.
Race card..well since illegal aliens are composed of people of all skin colors and many, many nationalities, they are not a race. Unless we want to start classifying all criminals as 'races' which would be ludicrous. A murderer race? A child molester race? A drunk-driver race? An illegal alien race?

Either you are right or wrong on any issue, regardless of race. Identity theft has become the number one crime and the victims never get anything resolved nor do they recieve a dime to recover their loss of good name, reputation or credit!
Just today, WGN news braodcast that a coup in taking over Milwaukee had taken place by Illegals and the sanctuary cities harbor them by passing illegal laws. They don't realize that all Federal funding can be dried up and taken away. You can also go to irs.gov, download form 3949A, report them and get a reward!
