Can you enter Dubai unmarried & with illigitimate chilren?

Hi, my friend has been living in Dubai for the past 18 months but has had to return home as she is pregnant and unmarried. She is having the baby here and then intends to return to Dubai after it is born. Can she do this lawfully? Surely if it is against the law to give birth out there whilst unmarried surely they will not let her return to live there and an unmarried mother? She would have to stay here or return without the child? All answers welcome :0)

Answer:
It is a criminal offence to have a child out of wedlock in Dubai, however if you have the child outside Dubai and return back with the child you would not be prosecuted.

If you were to give birth in a hospital in Dubai it is the Doctors responsibility to make sure the child is not illegitimate or the Doctor could face prosecution.

I have been living in Dubai for 2 years now I am also from the UK and I can assure you there should be no problem for your friend to return to Dubai with the child.
better check and research more about this through weblink addresses that can help you understand more regarding this theory.
I have no clue but I think that the best thing to do is to go to the embassy and ask...
i was looking into going to dubai a few years ago... single women could not sponser their children to take them over there unless they were medical doctors. otherwise they have to be sponsered by their father. im not sure on the rules now but cant imagine they have changed, but i assume your friend has looked into this..if she hasnt she may find that she cannot take the baby with her.
Perhaps they can enter only as tourists on tourist visa for temporary period.
I don't know why she would want to go back. She can be prosecuted for adultery since she is unwed and pregnant, that is an offense punishable by death there.
She may be able to go back there as a tourist and then leave regularly and re-enter. Unfortunately even couples who are married in other countries (i.e. uganda) and have documentation and go to reside in dubai have problems being recognised there as married to each other....the wife has to leave every x months, she goes to bahrain for a long weekend and returns to dubai....but am not sure about the situtaion with a new born involved...the lady i know leaves the country with her daughter-in-law!!!! a much bigger child....i hope your friend manages to resolve things and rejoin the father of her child.
