This is a very real possibility, but only after a minority group reaches a level of about 30% of the total population. That won't come for a generation or so.
If you look at ethnic civil wars of the present era, this is about the level of population you need for a good war.
I really think Britain is just now seeing it as a big problem. They could have used more people at one time, but now they have the reverse situation. I think when Tony Blair leaves the next prime minister will pick up on this situation, and it will be a priority.
Yes I think that any country who has had open borders like the US and Britain will eventually have a backlash. The problem is that immigrants now days are more likely to enter illegally and refuse to acquire the culture of the host country.
