Nobody's saying anything about deporting all immigrants. Just the ILLEGAL immigrants.

No, I don't think that is the answer to immigration, but I do think it is the answer to increasing our national security to the level other nations already enjoy.
Immigration is a separate issue that is caught up in the fray.
people are afraid of what they dont know and understand, so instead of trying to figure it out. .they rather just get ride of the problem.. and no.. its not the right thing to do..
America wouldn't be the same if all immigrants were deported. Can't you imagined that? I know a lot of people are against immigration and stuff but truthfully it would be very different if all immagrants were deported, not in a good way.
Yes, secure the borders and deport all illegals. Think of the consequences if we don't!
Let's think about some of the the consequences.
health care costs would drop, especially in California, California wineries wouldn't be subsidized at the expense of taxpayers, we'd get rid of people who blatantly ignored our laws, illegal drug importation would drop, border towns would have less crime, and rich people would pay nannies what they're worth. I could live with that.
personally, I think we should deport anyone with a criminal record for sure. I think we should secure the borders before anything else and then leave those here who are here. There is a real need for labor but the underground society, culture wars and cost is not worth turning a blind eye anymore.
Additionally, there is the whole national security issue which frankly drives me crazy. Why we are so slow and lazy to protect ourselves is beyond my scope. Again I'd start with securing the borders.
I am against amnesty, but mass deportations are not the way to go
Yes we should strengthen it, what is it saying to those who come legally? That its not worth it to go through the screens and background checks to help protect our country from terrorists??
I come from a military family for over 7 generations, and my family members along with all other troops DO NOT protect this country so that others who come illegally can benefit... If you want to be here, fine do it legally... My family is not originally from the US we all immigrated here from Portugal, legally! If everyone else can, then so can they...
Should the process be easier, yes... but should they just get immunity? No, it will ruin our economy... Yes make it cheaper, and easier and quicker. but also strengthen board controls... have u been watching news lately?? 3 terrorist bombings in how many days?
Our citizens rights are protected by the constitution and bill of rights... our safety is first and foremost... Illegal Citizens rights however, are no... u want them to be protected? Be legal...

Well, we'd save billions of dollars a year in welfare to illegals. We would be able to do more with less people because they speak English. We would save our bankrupt hospitals. We would save (statistically) 23 lives every day in America that are being killed by drunk illegals. We would empty our prisons because a huge number of prisoners are illegals. Those prisoners should be deported to Iran. Then let them find their way home. I could go on but I'm tired.

Our government gets its policies passed by making its people afraid. People in fear are easy to control.
Prior to 9/11 if someone said you could be detained for taking the wrong combination of library books out you would have laughed - now the American people ask for their liberties to be taken away to protect them from "the terrorists".
Hows that war on drugs going? We are almost 50 years into the "War on Drugs" - we've allowed our government to spend billions of dollars on it and I can still walk down the street and buy anything I want.
Now a "War on Immigration"? Oh goodie, more tax dollars diverted to "classified" programs that we are not allowed to know about.
What if we just processed immigrants more efficiently and made them adhere to the rules and regulations we expect of them? "You work here - you pay taxes - and you limit how much they can send back to their country." What if we helped the countries of origin provide better lives for their people so they wouldn't have to come here - no more immigration problem
What consequences? What's worst than being called a racist by ignorants? Doesn't hurt my feelings btw. Legal immigrants will not being seeing the bye bye boat. However, illegal ones will.
If anybody thinks they can close their borders and live in isolation in the modern world I believe they have lost touch with reality. The world and it's economy are far too complex for that. Because of mobility we are going to become more integrated than ever in the future.
I agree.Not only that, but no one has yet thought of a way to "close" 1,950 mile border with Mexico, 5,522 mile border with Canada (the longest in the world) nor how to secure 12,320 of coastline..not including Alaska and Hawaii.

Many of our fellow Americans are a little short in the "think" department.
I work as a secretary in a prison in Texas. The majority of the inmates in Texas are all illegal immigrants that now have committed really heinous crimes. We have to secure the borders before we can address the issue of illegals that are entering our country wrongfully.
Consequences:
NO illegal aliens protesting in the streets.
No illegal aliens burning our precious flag.
No illegal aliens stealing money from American children (via welfare).
No illegal aliens raping our sons, daughters, PETS, etc.
No illegal aliens stealing our cars OR identities.

Yes, It would require us to bring in more legal immigrants to replace the illegal ones here and force the employers to follow the law. That would be a wonder thing.
