If you are against the new immigration bill how would you solve the problem of the 12 Million illegals?

I'm against amnesty too and I agree we have to defend the borders. There are provisions in the bill to do all that and I would support wording that "made" Homeland Security spend the money only for that but we do have 12 Million Illegals here right now. How do we solve that problem? How would you get them out of the country?

Answer:
Amnesty is not a reasonable solution. It leads to too may problems, one of them being provided reason for future illegal immigrants to believe they all also get amnesty. It is a vicious cycle.

So what to do?

1) Secure the border. There is not point in financing the deportation of aliens if they can get right back in. We must erect a wall and make sure the border is secure.

2) Pass laws requiring illegal immigrants to report to the border and register with the government (names, fingerprints, etc.). Also require all illegal immigrants who cannot immediately obtain legal permits to the US to return to their home countries.

3) Arrest and deport illegal aliens as they are found walking the streets, driving without insurance, soliticiting illegal work, etc.

4) Enforce strict and severe penalties to companies and contractors who are caught employing the work of illegal aliens.

5) Eliminate loopholes for illegal aliens to stay in the U.S. (anchor babies, etc.).

That should pretty much take care of it.
Major fines towards any businesses that hire them. Police officers should be allowed to ask about immigation status. Any illegals that are found are shipped back, no matter what family ties they have.
Enforce the laws we have now. Not a hard question.
Deport them and give them chance to undergo to the proper process from their country after they pay a penalty and back tax debts.

If they come back illegally and caught at the border shoot them. Post notice that illegal tress passers will be shoot.

This will stop that. Total enforcement so they would realize the law is seriously implemented.
First let me say that the wording in the bill for border security is just that - words. We were sold the same bill of goods in 1986 - just give us amnesty and you'll get border security, and border security actually decreased after amnesty.

According to my congressman, the Senate bill provides less border security than the bill that was passed last year, and which has never been enforced. Just where is that 700-mile fence, anyway?

Now, as to your question, one way NOT to solve the problm is to make them all eligible for social security as would happen if we granted them legal status. To get rid of them, cut off welfare, enforce existing laws as to hiring illegals, stop giving driver's licenses to illegals, and when local police bust somebody for being illegal, don't just turn them loose as now happens - deport them like the law now says it should be done.

If we were to make a big effort to deport them all at once it could be done. Harry Truman successfully carried out such a program when he was president. It was a smaller number, but there were fewer federal agents, too.

The claim that we "can't" do it is a big lie that means the people saying that don't want to do it. But it's not necessary to do it all at once. Cut them off from jobs and social services and many will leave of their own accord. The rest can be sent out one at a time.
You can't. Think about it, 12 million people mostly concentrated in major cities they would create an economy of their own. They would live here, have businesses here hire each other and not be part of the United Statesian economy. We can't deport 12 million it is jut not possible, we must integrate them into our society the sooner the better.
Round them up and send them back across the border.
Some say this is impossible, to which I say "hooey",
If the United States government thinks they can invade a sovereign nation arrest their leader, write and enforce new laws in that country of millions, why can't this same government spend that time, money and energy protecting our borders and get rid of the illegals?
Getting people out of America is not the solution for anything. If you don't like it then you flee the country and to another one.
Integrating them will not work. If they only hire their own do you think making them legal will stop this? No. It didn't work with the Asians in California so what makes you think it will work now?
Any businesses caught hiring illegals should pay fines per each one hired and as we catch them we ship them back. don't waste time sending them to court to allow them to say why they should stay. This would take some time but would eventually start to work. When you are talking about 12 million you can't do anything overnight. Local Law Enforcement could assist INS Agents in raids but they are already over worked with just enforcing the law. County Jails and Prisons can be a great help. Jails are full all over the country with a large number of illegals. Sending them all home immediately would relieve a great deal of overcrowding.
My Senator wrote
"I reject the false dichotomy in the immigration debate between two choices that are unwise and impractical. One is to give all illegal aliens amnesty, which would be the forgiveness of an offense without penalty. Second is to deport the estimated 12 million illegal aliens out of the United States."

The current situation with Illegal immigrants NOT QUALIFYING for citizenship is better than wholesale AMNESTY.

So it is surely a THIRD, albeit poor choice, that can be maintained until REAL program changes are made. I would suggest that we look to the Proposition 187 put together, and PASSED by California, the state with the highest percentage of illegal aliens and Hispanic descendants. If not for conflict with jurisdiction vs the federal government, and a weak kneed governor, who was then RE-CALLED, it would be the law in CA today. So what say we look at producing those changes at the FEDERAL level, and eliminate the jurisdictional dispute.

It would be a great first step.

A FOURTH choice would be to create a resident alien program that FORBIDS future citizenship.

Nothing that expects Illegal Immigration to be contained at the source (i.e., the border) has any chance of succeeding. No one could afford to enforce it!

The source of the financial benefits must be the point at which you curtail this problem.
Yes that may put requirements on employers that they would rather not have, but it is what is best for the country as a whole!

Certainly the improved Passport and Visa systems with biometric data required is laudable on its own.

I for one am as happy to live with descendants of Hispanic immigrants as I am with those of African Asian or European descent. The issue before us is the preference/bias that is occurring in our country that the Illegal Immigration is creating. If we really want to allow that level of immigration, open the doors to Europe, that have been ridiculously restricted since 1965, as well.

I do not agree that the “family re-unification” policy should be continued un-checked. Since the 1965 legislation dramatically limited all but South American immigration, it has unfairly weighted the effect of those “family re-unification” exceptions in favor of those from South America. This needs to be rebalanced much the way college admissions needed to be biased in favor of minorities in the 1970’s.

I agree expending large amounts of government funds to deport illegal aliens is fruitless.
If the benefits (JOB, SCHOOLING & SOCIAL SYTEMS) were removed from their reach, many of them would find it worthwhile to go home.
FEDS:

Build the FENCE;

ENFORCE the laws;

DEPORT illegals;

SANCTION employers!

There is no conceivable way to "protect" American boarders, first of all. That was proven with a 20 mile tunnel. The notion of spending TAX MONEY on a fence is just lame. Anyone that thinks that is a valid notion is foolish, look at the thinker of that one.
Also, Clinton spent our tax money on PODS that were to protect the boarder. Only thing, no one though of how hot it would get inside of these PODS, so now they are scrap metal. Another great notion.
My question is, if they are now considering allowing 20 million illigal aliens to become nationals, why have immigration laws? Why waste our tax money on an ineffective method? We are also taking in 14000 Iranian families. Their settlement is in Deer Park, MI. Did anyone know that? Did anyone know that for the longest time our government has been bring in Russian immigrants and it's been your tax $$$ that has been housing and feeding these people. I know 1st hand because I lived in Chicago. The settlement is on the north side between Evanston and Rogers Park.
So, before I would get upset about illegal aliens coming from Mexico, I'd be upset with my government for allowing it to happen when my tax money has been wasted and the deception that your goverment has been allowing to it's citizens and pointing fingers at all of these other countries and telling us they don't know how to run their governments.

Our government forced millions of Indians off of their land, brutally murdered them, put them on reservations, so how does it feel to be pushed back?

Put that in your ballot box this fall..
Close the borders and shut down employers of illegal aliens. the re-evaluate all aid programs.

they will migrate back to where they can earn a living. not here!~
Crucifiction, beheadings, the gibbet and wheel. A few thousand "Iron Maidens" not to mention the boot and screw.
Sorry but we don't have 12 million illegals here - it's more like 20+ million and increasing daily!

I think it is actually a fairly simple process to fix the problem.
1) Burn the Senate's pile of crap bill - NO AMNESTY!
2) Jail and/or heavily fine employers of the illegals - jobs dry up and the illegals will leave.
3) Build the wall we have already been promised - Build a bigger wall!
4) Enforce our CURRENT laws.
5) NEVER vote for a pro-amnesty candidate. Vote out the ones that are pro-amnesty!
6) Apply the 14th amendment as it was intended. No anchor babies. This amendment was regarding slaves at the time of the Civil War. It was NOT for the children of illegals!

Jorge Bush says our laws don't work. Has he ever tried to enforce any?
Hosebeatings?
Simply remove incentives for being here and they will go home.
Close the border. Station American troops there.
Fines and jail for employers who knowingly hire illegals.
33% tax on wire transfers of money to Mexico.
No sanctuary cities.
Fines and jail for those who rent to illegals.
