Why are people so racist??
If you hated a race but then became friends with someone who looked like your race..what would you do when you find out otherwise?? In the end we're all human..why does skin matter so much?
this isnt a biased question..im not pointing fingers at any one race because i see it everywhere..i just want to kno why?
Answer:
For some reason, some races believe their ontop of everyone else. When a person sees a person from one race do something, they just go and take it out on the whole race, or if a group of people do something to them, they feel the whole race is like that, but its not.
I don't hate anyrace and have friends from many races. If your question DID apply, i would still remain that persons friend, them telling me their in that race would probaly make me like that race again.
In school, there was a big situation where a girl thought she was better than everyone else, she said horrible things u cant imaging all because she thinks her race is above mine.
Also, people can become racist because they grow up around theese things. Family members and friends who make theese types of remarks infront of their children set bad examples. Children repeat what they hear and so on.
That person probaly saw someone or more than one person from his race steal something, and then run, so know, they will make a racial remark everytime they see someone from his race running in a shopping area.
Theese r the two main thinnigys for racism, juging a whole race because of what one person or a group of people did or said to u, and feeling ur the best.
Because people are stupid a**holes.
racism is ignorance.
I think its funny how people hate...they put in so much emotion into something, it really shows how much they are afraid..
It`s called "Stereotyping" !
Stung is a good example of ignorance and racism:-
" people are stupid a.holes"
Not everyone is racist; some are though. Just don't be one yourself and that is all you can do. Why judge those that won't change?
A real answer why? A lot of people were raised by racist parents and brainwashed to think the same way. Others have had several bad experiences with people of a certain race and no good experiences with them, and therefore generalize. And then there are those who are just plain ignorant and afraid of anything or anyone who isn't just like them. That's my take on it anyway.
i agree i think racism is REALLY F U C K E D UP
Racist will always be with us, as well as those that call others racist to get their way, neither do not serve the interest of the majority of the people in the world
i dont know why, i guess they think that if they are not the same color then they are bad or not meant to be on earth and im white and my boyfriend is black and alot of people think i dont got what it takes to keep him because i am white or they think he is to good for me but we love eachother and dont care what other people think.racist people dont have anything better to do then judge other people by their skin color.
people are just ignorant.plus some can't help it.for the way they where brought up.and your right why should it matter?we all have the same color of blood that runs though the veins also we all are going to die one day.so who has the right to jugde?
What does this have to do with illegal immigration?
The person who said wonder what he stold is probably quoting the stats and info from TV news and newspapers and radio, etc. Is it racist to be aware of crime statistics? Is it racist to be wide awake when so many unsuspecting people have been robbed and raped and plundered by the criminal elements of the world? I don't hate any other race but I do read and can see and have seen enough documentaries on crime in the USA and if it's accurate it's not exactly racism, is it? The obscenities weren't the right thing to say, in fact, to have said nothing would have been PC but perhaps they were the voice of experience. I have friends and family in just about every race on this planet so I know that all people are the same in their needs and emotions but the ratio of crime to race isn't all BS. It is wrong to automatically hate someone before you've even met them just because of their color but so many do and sometimes there are reasons we don't know about. Skin shouldn't matter and it doesn't matter to me but not everyone has had my life or yours.
The world gets harder and more confusing all the time. People are afraid. They don't feel safe. They don't know what's going to happen, but they're worried. It would be so comforting to feel like they understood things a little, or at least knew who to blame. They're pretty sure it's not their fault, or their friends or neighbors. But there are plenty of people who will tell them who to blame. It's the damn Republicans, or the damn Democrats, or the Jews, or the Blacks, or the Mexicans, or (insert group here). So now they have an answer. They have someone to blame. Next time somethings bothering them, they can cuss out the damn Arabs, or the dirty politicians, or whoever. Maybe they were mugged by someone who was black, so they're convinced all black people or criminals. Or they got laid off and the company hired some people from India who will work cheaper, so they hate all Indians. People aren't always logical or reasonable, especially when they're afraid. So they go home, have a couple of beers, and tell the kids "Don't ever trust the lousy Japs." The kids may not even know a Jap, or a Jew, or whoever, but are they going to doubt Mom and Dad? And then the kids hear the preacher, or the congressman, or their teacher say the same thing. Why wouldn't they believe it?
What amazes me, and gives me some hope, is that some of those kids grow up, make a friend who's gay, or Muslim, or whatever, and decide, "Hey! They're people too."
Maybe someday we'll all realize that.
Sadly, an awful lot of racism- grows on "family trees". We learn it from our Parents as we grow up. And those "family values" -become OURS when we are discouraged (by our Parents) NOT to challenge them- because it would be "disrespect-full" to THOSE authority figures. Racism is ignorance in its most virulent form. And ignorance is everywhere...
people fear that which is not known to them and readily label and slander people that are not like them to justify their irrational fear.Scape goating is a way for some of them to take out anger that they don't even realize they are carrying or why and so the direct it at strangers who look different than them selves because it is easier to convince them selves that they are vindicated by doing so.Blonds generally don't tell blond jokes as an example. In my un professional opinion lol.
Because people who think that way are just plain ignorant! oh, and maybe they know just how shitty they are as human beings that it makes them feel good to ACT like they are superior to another race when in truth for acting that way they have reduced themselves to lesser humans than those so called thieves, gangsters and druggies. When I'm sure their race isn't free of all these things.
By the way, illegal immigration is not about racism.
I'll assume (God help me) that you are referring to those who use the race card regardfing illegal immigration.
Illegal Immigration isn't a race. Illegal immigration is a legal issue. Personally I don't care if they are illegal from Norway, Germany, Afghanistan, or Antarctica. They are still illegal and don't belong in this Country.. That said, it can't be ignored that the majority of our Illegals come from those countries south of our border, and there are many countries these folks originate from...
It's incumbent upon us as a nation to build lasting economic and political ties with our neighbors to the south and bring their economies and lifestyles into the 21st century.
Beats pouring money into the sand over a religious civil war we can't win.
Don't get me wrong...I'm completely and totally against illegal immigration, but I also realize this is a problem we can address in short order and have mutual gains with those Countries that choose to participate.
there are alot of reasons for racial remarks, in the us, most illegal immigrants are mexican, is that a racial remark? no, its not. what else would you call someone from mexico. in the end, i feel the same as you, and the lady in the mall was COMPLETELY out of line.
people are afraid of the things they dont understand.. so instead of taking the time to figure it out.. the rather just listen to statictics.. never knowing who they are...
There are a couple of reasons for racism. One is an inferiority complex and the need to find (create) someone you can feel superior to. Another is because a person feels threatened over employment or housing. This is particularly true where you have an ethnic group who are prepared to work much harder than another. You can then accuse them of working for lower wages and bludging of the welfare system. Almost contradictory but logic is not the strong suit of racists.
Every desirable country has illegal immigrants but they are not a race, and many of them will be legal but because of their appearance they will be lumped together with illegals by racists. There is no need to be racist when discussing immigration.
I think racists are pathetic because you know exactly where they are coming from once they start ranting.
The example you used is stereotyping, not racism!~ yours is a leading question!
People are racist because they are unhappy with who they are.
Racism is based in fear.
I however, am not racist. I hate everyone equally.
Much of racism is simply projection of one's own faults and self-hatred on someone perceived as different or inferior.
Having said that, I don't think racism is a major component of the intolerance toward illegal immigrants although their supporters would vehemently disagree.
I think most people are upset over their initial trespassing and their sense of entitlement, despite their illegality, and their general refusal to integrate into our society and system of laws. If this anger is racism, then I'm a flaming racist.
A good portion of people these days want to confuse racism for patriotism.
Big difference, they think it will help their cause by blurring the line between the two.
Here lately, racist is just a word used by those with no real argument.
How about some truth here? You posted this under immigration so you have a hidden agenda. Its not racism you are really complaining about. You associate a desire of Americans to keep out illegals, protect jobs and preserve a culture with racism. What you are doing is making a proxy argument.
