Immigration Reform Act (A.K.A. -- AMNESTY)
** Americans against ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, isn't the same thing as a racist!
You could not have said it better... the idea of rewarding millions of felons for breaking federal law is absolutely ridiculous! What is wrong with this country. Stand up Americans! Do not let this happen! You may not think that it affects you, but it will affect your kids; their kids; etc. Do you think that once these people have green cards, they are going to continue to work the jobs that Americans don't want (Which is not only the case. They are also taking jobs that Americans do want.) No, they are going to want more, and then the government is going to tell us they need more illegals to do the jobs the new green card holders do not want to do anymore. Stand up Americans! Do not allow this bulls..t! government of ours to take advantage of Americans; all for their own agenda, which only benefits them. If we need workers, then create a guest worker program. Let them come, work, and leave after a few years, letting new workers come.
Hmmmm Amnesty, have you looked it up in the dictionary?
Amnesty: the act of an authority (as a government) by which pardon is granted to a large group of individuals...in criminal law, sovereign act of oblivion or forgetfulness (from Greek amnesia) for past acts, granted by a government to persons who have been guilty of crimes. It is often conditional upon their return to obedience and duty within a prescribed period. Amnesty is granted usually for political crimes against the state, such as treason, sedition, or rebellion.
Thats amnesty, this is a penalty.Paying a fine and returning back to the country of origin, paying fees is NOT amnesty, they still have to pay a penalty..
Apparently our politicians seem to think they are above the laws. They seem to break everyone of these without prosecution.
Federal Immigration and Nationality Act
Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)
"Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."
Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):
A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:
* assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or
* encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or
agent for an employer in any way, or * knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions
Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime. Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his or her work authorization status is guilty of a misdemeanor. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief.

To add - oc_boomer wants to hear from others regarding illegals and our rights to oppose them and our politicians who support another amnesty bill.
His answer -
It is time to complain by virtue of a policy on the 2008 ballot, and if we can not get it done properly, there is room to make sure we re-call anything we want. Email me, and we will get it done. I will copyright our recall and establish an arena to make politicians work for us and get the job reversed that they want just for the illegal vote that illegal aliens do usually for republicans - yeap! Now the democrats are using them, it won't last.

agree
Absolutely!
I got a few thumbs down when I said Bush's fine of $10K was not sufficient to deter people to coming to AMerica, and now its down graded to $5K. I would like to remind people that asian illegal immigrant pay $30K to get here and I was told they are willing ot pay as much as 50 to 60K. Also the increase in salary when they become legal will easily cover it unless this new proposal would still let in another wave of illegal immigrants.
Yes, it sure as heck is. You can call dog doo doo, a rose, but if you get close enough, you'll soon know what it really is.
Amnesty is amnesty.
Illegal is illegal.
A criminal is a criminal.
The U.S. government had better step up and take charge on this one or the people of this great nation will! There are some very scary conversations going on in this country concerning a MUTINY! A lot of people in my circles are ready to run up the Jolly Roger and start slitting some throats!
NO AMNESTY! NO COMPROMISE! NO MORE BS!!!
Build that wall, NOW! Enforce the immigration laws that are ALREADY on the books. And repel this invasion.
Yes, I agree with you completely!
Unlawful Entry is a CRIME. Zero tolerance for immigration-law violators! No amnesty, no "stealth-amnesty." No "change of status," marriage fraud, "exceptional leave to remain," no "Temporary Protected Status." If you break the law, depart or be deported. Illegal aliens kill more US citizens each year than the war in Iraq has killed in four years. Apologists for illegal immigration like to paint it as a victimless crime. But in fact, illegal immigration causes substantial harm to American citizens and legal immigrants, particularly those in the most vulnerable sectors of our population--the poor, minorities, and children. Additionally, job competition by waves of illegal immigrants willing to work at substandard wages and working conditions depresses the wages of American workers, hitting hardest at minority workers and those without high school degrees. Illegal immigration also contributes to the dramatic population growth overwhelming communities across America--crowding school classrooms, consuming already limited affordable housing, and straining precious natural resources like water, energy, and forestland. Taxpayers are being forced to pay for the free health care, education, and other welfare programs being given to illegal aliens; Those tax dollars could be given back to U.S. taxpayers or used to keep our borders secure; They may be here illegally, but they sure know how to "work the system" to collect "free" medical care, "free" education, "free" food, Section 8 housing vouchers and other housing assistance, and hundreds of other social services. It costs citizens additional hundreds of billions of tax dollars at every level: local, state, and federal. It gobbles up billions of our charitable contributions. And much of that money ends up siphoned out of our economy and into offshore accounts. Illegal aliens, over half of whom work "under the table" with neither job nor income reported (nor taxed), are not counted as employed or unemployed. But some of those day-labor and off-the-books "job-lets" would be "real" jobs - available to American citizen job-seekers - if employment regulations were enforced. Illegal aliens can get away with tax evasion, et al., which citizens cannot. In short, we have too many workforce entrants and too few jobs created. The ratio works out to roughly 7-10 workforce entrants per job created. If all illegal aliens depart or are deported, all legal immigration halted, and all temporary employment visas abolished, we still have a problem with more US-born workforce entrants than new jobs created. Illegal immigration damages our country and our citizens every day at every level. And not even the attacks of 2/26 and 9/11 have awakened many Americans to the vast dangers illegal immigration poses to our selves, our families, our communities, our society, our values, our principles, our civilization. Zero Tolerance for Immigration-Law Violators! We must remember the lessons of 2/26, 9/11, and the costs we bear every single day. God Bless the U S A !
Alot of people in this country seem to equate illegal immigrants with criminals. I would guess that 99% of these people come to this country to work because wages and the quality of life are so much better than back in their home countries. Had they applied through the regular process, they probably wouldn't have received anything for over 10 years and for many people, their family's wellbeing outweighs the risk of dying while crossing a border. For the sake of many that have been in this country for many years, it's time to give them a break and allow them a chance to assimilate into society and become good tax-paying citizens.
The best thing is that we'll finally switch to a point system so that we can bring in the immigrants that will really help this country, instead of bringing 20 members of the same family, some of whom might not have any education or know how to speak English, just because one of their relatives happened to marry a US citizen and therefore became one.
Look at the fact that you get 12 million people who are now officially required to pay taxes like everyone else, instead of keeping them in the shadows, not knowing who's paying and who's just mooching off the system. Secondly, you get some good enforcement that will have to be in place before they can start having a chance to get a green card. That sounds pretty good to me. If you think congress is dying to give these people amnesty, then knowing that it won't come before enforcement should give you some comfort that enforcement is at least being taken seriously this time. Employers will HAVE to check all the SS #s that their employees use and that's a good thing. Now that they're legal, you won't have to worry about them taking the jobs out from citizens because they get paid less because now they'll be demanding the same as everyone and whoever is best for the job will get it. Not to mention there won't be any exploitation on the part of the employers.
Most of these guys will be able to get legal driver's licenses with insurance and you can be happy to know that the person who hits you on the freeway is insured, won't you be?
Some of them, primarily the younger ones, will continue their education and probably go on to college to get good degrees that will help this country. You don't think that's a good thing.
You're not rewarding criminals here, you're rewarding desperate people, and there's really nothing wrong with that. We're a compassionate country, and we always claimed to be, so why should we be so coldhearted with these people?
Overall, this bill may not be perfect, but it's much better than what's on the books and I'm all for it. Good compromise between both sides.
