Working in the US?
i would like to go over to the US next year for six months to act/audition/etc. I know of people who have done this and had a great time.
has anyone here done this and what are the pros and cons?
i have tried looking online for information on Visas, as i have been told you need a specialised visa to do this. But the information has been hard to understand/or thin on the ground.
does anyone know, or have any advice on this.

Answer:
Performers can get special visas for the US but to get one you must be known well in your field and have recognised talent. The visa doesn't allow for aspiring performers to go and try their luck. http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/vis...
The only other way to perform in the US would be to get a job offer before you go and let your employer arrange a visa for you as a skilled worker who is taking a job that no American wants or is able to do.
