Why do we have legal immigration from Mexico?

Why don't they suspend all Immigration after they ( and if they) secure the Border and not let anyone in until they make up for the millions that came in illegally? We should punish them ,if they are going to break the law then we should put pressure on them through the angry Mexicans that want to come in legally .

Answer:
Why do we have legal immigration at all? You have to remember that the U.S. is made up of immigrants and many people that live in the U.S. wants to bring their close relatives into the U.S. Besides family, people with special talent are granted legal residency, like athletes and professionals. It is in the History of the U.S. to allow people to immigrate here. I agree with this, but we want people that are willing to work and make the U.S. a better place to live.
so true trying to get in are terf.
One simple word will answer your entire question from every angle:

M
O
N
E
Y
I don't think it would be very fair to punish those who want to do it the right way because of those who do it the wrong way. Guess what the people who WOULD do it the right way are gonna do when they are turned away from doing it legally?
Do YOU want to pick fruit or clean hotel rooms for a living? In general Mexican migrant workers do jobs that Americans won't do. American business needs them and both political parties acknowlege the fact. Add to that the fact that Mexicans will work themselves to death for you, just because they believe that's the way you're supposed to do it. So why wouldn't we want them?

My dad worked in restaurants for almost 30 years and he said there were two types of applicants he always hired on the spot.

1. Fry cooks from Waffle House (because they have to remember all of the orders in their heads)

And,

2. Mexicans, because no one will work harder or be more appreciative of the work you give them.
Because thats the way it is , you can't control illegal inmigration it would be unfair to the ones that do it the right way.
It really isn't fair to punish those who would do it legally because of those who didn't.

However, it isn't fair for innocent Americans to have to suffer higher car insurance premiums, impossible health care premiums and the like because someone else broke the law either.

This is a hard one to decide which side to be on.

The solution for immigration is simple.
1) Build a fence and stop the bleeding.
2) Systematically, round up and deport anyone who is here illegally.
3) Establish $20,000 fines for any employer hiring illegals(each offense)

For those who would say #2 cannot be done, how do you think the INS was going to process all those amnesty claims if the immigration reform bill passed?

For all of those who say we don't have the funds, read #3.

This will work, but our politicians don't have the courage to do it.
Well immigration has been a part of this country well since ever! I beleive it is actually helping this country. I don’t see what problems Immigration from MEXICO is causing that Americans don’t already cause. Plus these people are here for a better future. Feeling intimidated, pressured, or just hate supposedly competing for jobs you don’t want and places in universities which if you can’t get-frankly you don’t deserve? So really why is it you are against MEXICAN immigration? ……. Maybe racism? oh yeah, and David M. I agree
you just contradict yourself when you say dont want ANY immigration like here and then you use the argument that you dont want amnesty because its not fair for the people who have been waiting for years....It would be useful to use your brain cells once in a while
I agree that each year we should reduce the number of legal immigrates by the number of illegals.
We should deport most Americans too when they break the law.

Stupid question.
