National health entitlement for spouse on settlement visa..UK?

HIya, just wondering, does a spouse on a settlement visa have any entitlement to NHS, or do they have to be covered by private health until they get their permanent residence?

Answer:
Whilst within our shores such persons, referred to above, have full entitlement to our National Health Services. We are the most civilized country on the planet, and anyone in need, regardless of race, creed or colour will be cared for free of charge. This has been a sworn tenet of the British culture since WW11, made into law by the new Labour Government. Prior to that only the rich could afford treatment, unless you went into a charitable hospital, where you were treated like cattle. Yes, we are the islands where freedom and democracy set
seed, to spread slowly among the uncivilized World. Our nation is justly proud of the achievements of our relatively small island race. welcome to our land and good luck. Put your mind at rest you or your spouse have total access to our NHS.
Unfortunately, as in all things good, the system is abused, but its still there in times of need for everyone.
God bless you and all our American cousins.
God save the Queen
