Is Rudy saying the words that Americans want to hear?

Guiliani seems to be saying exactly what I've been worried about -- an overarching concern that the agribusiness politicians don't seem to want to respond to:

What do you think? Does this make him viable to you? I'd been interested in Fred Thompson, until reading this...

Answer:
He is merely saying what he thinks we want to hear.
I'm more concerned with his record.

Immigration politics have similarly harmed New York. Former mayor Rudolph Giuliani sued all the way up to the Supreme Court to defend the city’s sanctuary policy against a 1996 federal law decreeing that cities could not prohibit their employees from cooperating with the INS. Oh yeah? said Giuliani; just watch me. The INS, he claimed, with what turned out to be grotesque irony, only aims to “terrorize people.” Though he lost in court, he remained defiant to the end. On September 5, 2001, his handpicked charter-revision committee ruled that New York could still require that its employees keep immigration information confidential to preserve trust between immigrants and government. Six days later, several visa-overstayers participated in the most devastating attack on the city and the country in history.

New York conveniently forgot the 1996 federal ban on sanctuary laws until a gang of five Mexicans—four of them illegal—abducted and brutally raped a 42-year-old mother of two near some railroad tracks in Queens. The NYPD had already arrested three of the illegal aliens numerous times for such crimes as assault, attempted robbery, criminal trespass, illegal gun possession, and drug offenses. The department had never notified the INS.

In 1994, Rudy Giuliani stated his position on illegal immigration quite clearly and there is no reason to think that his beliefs have changed since then.

Here are the exact words Rudy Giuliani said "If you come here and you work hard and you happen to be in an undocumented status, you're one of the people who we want in this city."

Rudy Giuliani Wants Path To Citizenship For Illegal Immigrants
Rudy Giuliani wants path to citizenship for illegal aliens. "Earned citizenship" aka amnesty. April 2006

Now, suddenly after America speaks out, he starts to call for secure borders...note however, he does not say what he wants to do with the illegals here now. That article does not address his continuing view that illegals should be given an easy path to citizenship, although he denies that is any form of amnesty. Despite that having been his policy for more than a decade.
Just like the others. Rudy is saying words, he thinks will get him the most votes. LOL
He is saying what we want to hear. I like Rudy and I think he would make a good President but I need to hear more. We have problems that must be addressed and I want to know how the contenders think. I know Fred Thompson was a lawyer on TV but what are his positions? Of all the current candidates the one I know the most about is the one I already know I will not vote for, Hilary. She has shown her true colors many times.
No, he is saying the words that the delusional right want to hear.
I think I will not vote for him,he twists his agenda, making it sound like it is border security he wants, but he is to much like Bush, its obviouse its amnesty he wants, read between the lines.
Rudy G. wants the same as he always did, he wants to end illegal immigration by making the illegals legal, read CJSEZ post above. This will encourage more illegal immigration as it always has with amnesties.
