Is the Middle east a new continent? Why Public schools don't teach that?
People answered me: They're Middle Easterns.
Well... Turkey is part Asia and part Europe... but Israel is in Asia.
So even if they are mestizos, mixed breed, multiethnic,
( multicolor) they are technically Asians!
Agree?
Answer:
Actually, the word "middle east" is euro-centric. It is inaccurate because it suggests that we look at it through the European perspective. The "middle east" is not really the middle east if you look at it from Brazil!
Technically, the "middle east" is Southwest Asia, that's the word the UN uses. Israel is definitely not IN Asia, Israel is in the "middle east", right next to Palestine, however, Jews don't want to be referred to as "middle-easterners" so you never hear that term used. Turkey and the surrounding region is usually referred to as "Eurasian". Lastly,I don't think "mestizos" applies to this region, I think that's for Latin America.
YEAP!!!
Middle East is not a a continent but only a region in Asia.
You too are mixing apples and plums. Go see my answer in you first question.
BTW - there cannot be new continents. The earth is finite.
Actually, "since when is Turkey part of Europe?", In the words of the French diplomat at the E.U. meeting.
Israelis are Asians. But Asia is so large, it breaks off into three 4 areas: Russia, the Middle East, South East Asia, and the Orient.
Chinese are Asians, but more importantly, they are Orientals. Indians are Asians, but more importantly, they are South East Asians. Russians are Asian, but more importantly, they are Russian, and the only nation which is both part of Asia and Europe. Israelis are Asian, but more importantly are Middle Eastern.
On that note, Mexicans are American, but more importantly, South American, not North American.
Yes but the middle east is used in reference to a region not a continent.
