How to deal with a guy holding an expired visa??
i'm quite annoyed by a housemate. the house are all international students except him. he is holding an expired visa. actually it has expired on dec of 2006. and works more than 25 hours per week. the council tax letter came last month, which said the house should pay 500pounds plus before end of this feb. i asked him to solve this, 'cuz other members in this house dont work or only work for under 10 hours per week. but he said, if we don't share the council tax, he won't pay a penny.
can any1 tell me how to deal with this guy? is there a way to report this illegal person?

Why should he have to pay the entire bill? and what does his visa have to do with anything? You all live in the house. If the bill doesnt get paid none of you will have a place to stay. Stop being a hater. You only want him to pay the entire bill because he wont let you extort 500 pounds out of him.
If you don't like him, turn him in to the proper authorities. you'll be doing yourself and your country a great favor. btw is he a extremist muslim?

yes ; contact immigration. incidentally are the others claiming housing benefit? if so they should be getting help with their counciltax but they do have to apply.
Having an expired visa means nothing. I think U have issues with him having his visa expired. It is okay! don't worry. He's a good person because obviously he got a visa. just relax and don't feel so threaten by it. Istead find out why you hav eto pay the money and then hold a house meeting about it so you all come to an agreement of what needs to be done. if Worst come to worst, tell the guy straight up that U are bother by the facty that his visa is expired and that U don't want him living there for national security purpose. I'm sure someone who isan't afraid will give him a chance. We're humans!!!!!!!!! noT ALIENS.
Make a visit to the Sun newspaper , or pop down to the local cop-shop.

if his visa has expired, you need to report him, god knows he could be bin laden, or he could be anyone under a false ID, it could be dangerous for all living in that house, i would do something, i would get advise from the following, go to citizen advice centre and down town cop station, think about yourself and others.

You should report him because he is illegal, but you shouldn't be expecting him to pay all your council tax bill either! I'd tell you to eff off too.
why not call crimestoppers and claim the reward.

I don't agree that he's not re-applied for his visa.. its' something he should do right away..
But I do think that you are just being mean because he earns more than you do.. Perhaps you should up your hours of work.
And what you're effectively saying.. If he agreed to pay for you to live there and sponge of his good will.. you would be happy and you wouldn't shop him..
Either way he's breaking the law.. so shop him because you think he's done something wrong.. not because you want to blackmail him into paying for your share in the council tax.

Wow, you sound charming. Basically you want to blackmail him into paying the entire council tax bill or you are going to report him to immigration. I wish I had friends like you.
You realise any Blackmail is still illegal, even if the person you are blackmailing has done something ilegal? Even if your friend faces deportation, if he complains about your actions you will be facing criminal charges, and then deportation as well.
