While Americans tend to think of all Mexicans as being 'Hispanic' (and of hispanic as a race, rather than an ethnic identity), Mexicans, like Americans, see themselves as belonging to a number of different races, such as white or mestizo. And, there /is/ racism in Mexico, between Mexicans of those different races.
I think what you're trying to say might be more accurately described as a lack of patriotism or national pride.
Well i don't use the R word but they seem to be getting tense since the Amnesty bill failed,There own country has betrayed them.They came here with ideas of fame an fortune,But instead coming here legally an working for the American Dream they tried to take the American Dream. I think they are so uneducated and misinformed that they are easy prey for the government to confuse. They think they are reclaiming land that belongs to them!
Well there has always been tension between American Mexicans and those born in Mexico. I remember the American Mexicans would pick on the born Mexicans for not speaking English.
Sadly, this is the way it has been ever since the colonial times, the caste sysem never ended. The indigenous are still poor, the descendants of Europeans live well. It won't end any time soon. Why do you think Hispanos like your ancestors and my ancestors were land owners in New Mexico? The "Indio" has always been looked down upon in Mexico, oppressed, and deprived of almost every opportunity that would enable them to live just an average lifestyle. Why else in hell do you think they would go through the horrid things they go through just to get here? This place is like heaven compared to some of the places that they come from...they are not the racists it is the other way around.
