Do your friends, families & coworkers share your views on the illegals; and do they do anything about it?
Most of the people in my life are not aware of anything that's going on. When I tell them all facts about the illegals and the consequences of the immigration bill, they are all appalled. I give them their representatives' emails. But it ends there. It's very frustrating.
Answer:
Concerning my personal life, I am most comfortable spending time with people who are reasonable, intelligent, rational people who research issues fairly and do not let their personal prejudices or political party line affiliations dictate what they reason to be right or wrong.
With this said, granted that all sides of this issue and the information available, there is but one correct position to endorse concerning illegal alien immigration into our country.
What is important and what many people fail to recognize is the answer must be predicated on "what is best for the average American citizen"?
Allowing illegal aliens to come into our county, qualify for the entitlements and drain the resources of our great nation offer no benefit to the American taxpaying citizens.
A logical person cannot take into consideration personal feelings and what that they think is right for foreign illegals. America has its own difficulty to deal with. And that's where it's focus and money should be directed.
Any opinion contrary to the aforementioned stance that is possessed by an American or American politician is derived from that person's ulterior motives. For example, big business or farm lands in the congressman's district desire cheap labor, the Catholic church wants to increase Catholic population, Democrats want more voters and know that people living on handouts vote Democrat, etc, etc, etc.
I feel ya! Everyone that I know knos there is an issue but they do not wish to address it personally. They hope that a government leader will take care of it. Clearly that will never happen.
They don't care. My mother used to slap us for speaking improper English. Now she speaks with southern slang and thinks Spanish is a more logical language than German or English. Why can't we all just get along. They don't get the whole invasion part or why people like me are displaced or why the family has fewer workers and those that are working got their jobs because they knew somebody.
No, not all of them share my views, but a lot of them do. I have gotten a group of people to call representatives, send petitions, and collect signatures. YES to the immigration reform bill. In March we collected 10 million signatures nationwide and sent them to the congress. Why are pro-immigration movements more successful than antis? Because we know what we are talking about. Most people against an immigration reform ignore historical and political events, they are just misguided by their sense of "justice." ¡Si se puede! ¡Si se puede!
Yes, and they call and write daily. We can do this. We ARE 'the people' as the Constituion states.

Yes,my family feels the same and they call and email as well. My brother has friends over a lot and they don't leave this house without calling our senators lol.
i agree with you. I have been calling, faxing, writing, and emailing for weeks along with many others. it did have an effect on the last vote, but to have a true impact of how people in this country really feel, everyone needs to take action on this. but i think where they will really feel it is if this does pass, look who will no longer be in the congress anymore.. the ones that voted for this bill
I have but here is a quote that shows how much our senators really care about the opinions of Americans.
This is an actual quote by Mississippi senator Trent Lott after thousands of people called his office in protest to the Amnesty bill he along with others are supporting:
"I've had my phones jammed for three weeks. Yesterday I had three people answering them continuously all day. To think that you're going to intimidate a senator or any
senator into voting one way or the other by gorging your phones with phone calls -- most of whom don't even know where Gulf port Mississippi, is -- is not an effective tactic. But it's their right to do that."
I guess that the senators that are there to represent the people that elected them should not take the voices of thousands upon thousands of Americans into consideration when they make their decisions.
I think most peopledo agree about illegal immigration amnesty being the wrong choice in how to reform our system.
