The immigrants that came through Ellis Island didn't demand that Americans learn their language, and live off government handouts. They learned English, obeyed the laws, and became productive members of their community.
Why then do illegal aliens think they are entitled to special treatment when they fully intend to be a glut on our welfare system? Have absolutely no regard for our laws? When they bring violence, gangs, drugs, blight, poverty and disease to our communities?
They are federal criminals & deserve to be treated as such.
Xenophobes traditionally oppose any immigration at all. While any xenophobe worthy of the description would oppose illegal immigration, the reverse is not true. In fact, many of us who oppose illegal immigration are quite cosmopolitan, and not in the least put off by immigrants or immigration.
If I'm called a racist or a xenophobe I know I won the argument.

They throw that word out to all who disagree with immigration illegal or not, my parents are legal immigrants, I guess that makes me fear full of my own parents, what a joke.
Something about how serving your country teaches one what Country is all about. Its something one can't learn in any school. It also teaches about doing things the right way. You come back with more respect, for our country, its flag, and our laws. Someone who has not been there, can't know. So when these people, come here illegally, show no respect, its very hard to, respect them.
It is merely name calling! Tempers and passions run high in this arena and BOTH sides say things that really aren't true.

Roxy, all ILLEGAL immigrants do break the law---that is why they are called ILLEGAL immigrants. Entering the country ILLEGALLY is breaking the law. Being in the country ILLEGALLY is breaking the law. Working in the country ILLEGALLY is breaking the law.
It is not. It is being responsible and against lawbreakers. The INS is failing in its job. Its leadership needs to be replaced and we need to enforce our existing laws. There are legal ways of supplying the workers we need without the wholesale breaking of our laws. I have no respect for foreigners who break our laws. Mexico does not allow illegal immigration and we shouldn't either.
Not all illegal immigrants break the law. Many come here to work and make money.THey mind their own business and dedicate themselves to work. They work the hardest compared to us , who have it easy and take a lot for granted. Im sure if they had it easy in their native land they sure as hell wouldnt be here. Dont get me wrong Im proud to be an American but I dont think we work hard enough for what we got. We take it for granted. Yeah, if immigrants come here htey should adapt to living here and not forget their culture but add on out culture. Learn our language. I dont support illegal immigrants but i also dont hate them. I realize that there are immigrants that do adapt to the U.S and work and then there are those that dont. It is just all very complicated with many mixed thoughts and feelings. For me I think im caught in between.
It isn't. Illegal aliens and their supporters will say anything to bolster their case. I have seen here so many examples of this. These people (pro-illegals) now say "why don't we build a border fence on our northern border". To this we should respond, The attention to the border is proportionate with the respective governments willingness to respect Americas sovereignty.
It isn't. I've said this before.. When liberals are completely wrong in their agenda, they use name calling as their main argument. You have to realize, they are very good at using false guilt as a weapon. They know that many people will give in rather than be labled with these false, shameful words. It is easy to fight. Simply refuse to accept the guilt.
