Have you thought of contacting the Brazilian Embassy/Consulate about this? Since you have lost contact with a blood relation, I would think they would have some means to assist you. If not I would look into other organizations that could possibly help you search. I am sure that you could also probably hire a private investigator from that country to see if they can be found. I would do everything in my power to find my child even if I had to contact the police or law enforcement just to know that they are ok. Try the consulate first and see what they can do for you.
