The best and fastest way to apply for Canadian permanent residency after studying 2 years as Intl. student?
Answer:
The only fast(er) way is to choose a PNP (Provincial Nominee Programm). Every Province has a kind of "Hot List" of job shortages. If you are lucky and have one of the jobs - and all the necessary requirements of course - your application for PR might be processed faster. But to be honest - without at least 2 years experience in your job - it's hard to reach the required point level of 67 (heard it'll be increased soon to 71). There is a self-testing-kit somewhere in the CIC sites so you can see if you reach the point level. The best way - if you want to live in Canada sooner (I don't know where you live now) is try to get a Work Permit and then go ahead to apply for PR. You can do that parallell.
We are in Canada since 3 years and applied for WP's ourselves. If you are able to think and read/write english, you don't need an immigrations lawyer ! Save your money !
there is no fast & best way to apply for Permanent Residence. My husband applied in Nov/Dec06 and they still haven't opened the package. Probably won't until Aug/Sept, so look forward to a long process.
check the website out, be prepared for alot of paperwork, a medical, police checks, money to be paid, pictures etc... permanent residence costs about $1200.00 to do it on your own. that is with out all the little stuff and a lawyer to help. Which by the way if you are going to use a lawyer do your homework because unless they specialize in it they will soak you for alot $$$$$$. And then if you want to work that is a separate permit etc...
just my two cents because I have already done all of this for my husband.
