Bush's immigration plan is not that he favors Mexican immigrants, its that his Republican businessmen , want a cheap source of labor. The problem can be remedied by an act of Congress to make it a criminal offence to hire, illegal workers.

Uh, the law making it illegal to hire illegals is already on the books skippy. The problem is that the laws are not being enforced.

I have never had a problem with the racial component of the immigration but that they did not follow the rules. There are Hispanics who are stuck in a legal limbo with their status since we really have not addressed immigration law for years successfully but they will be made to wait longer than someone who comes across illegally.
Yet study after study shows that whites are LESS racist then either hispanics or blacks.
By the way I am in none of those groups.

The part that makes me bitter is the Hispanics march as a group demanding the laws to be changed. Let me inform you: there are many European ethnics denied VISITOR visas to experience the USA. That doesn't include work visas, just tourist visas. Certain parts of Europe can just forget about ever coming to the USA for any reason whatsoever. And, the INS can enforce those rules because such persons would have to arrive at an airport gateway.
Just another pro illegal using emotion rather than fact to argue. Do you statistics showing this? It became an issue when immigrants were and still are getting in ILLEGALLY meaning against US of A law! (sighs)

Loving and protecting your country is not racism. If it is, them I'm the biggest racist in the US.
Hispanics make up only around 15% of the country population, with a really small percentage of something else besides white. I have never worried about anything like tha when it comes to race.

The people who oppose this Amnesty Bill (that's what it is because there's almost NOTHING about border control in it) are not racist. My freaking boyfriend is a Castillo, so you can't say I'm racist.
Instead of listening to common sense and listening to the devastating effects this bill will have on this country for generations to come, you cry "RACISM".
My great grandparents were Sicilian. They were not white. They came to this country in 1900 through Ellis Island. They traveled to Galveston Island and arrived about 2 weeks after the storm that destroyed the whole place. They LEARNED THE LANGUAGE, insisted that their children LEARN THE LANGUAGE, STARTED BUSINESSES, put money back into the AMERICAN ECONOMY (they didn't send it back to Italy). They WANTED TO BE AMERICAN. Did they share their culture and their traditions and pass them down to their children. Absolutely.
There are many differences between the legal immigrants of the early 20th century and the 20 million+ to whom G DUHbya wants to grant amnesty.
~ Legal immigrants came in through proper channels. How is it fair to the ones who did it the right way that 20 million+ people who've been BREAKING THE LAW can just instantly obtain what the legal immigrants worked for? Do you realize that this amnesty bill will give priority to illegals over people who have been waiting for years to enter the U.S. legally. That is INSANE. How can you not understand that? This is not an issue of racism. It's an issue of JUSTICE for many.
~ Legal immigrants were proud to learn English. And, they were more successful, BTW, in their business and education BECAUSE they learned English. You and I can't go into Mexico or France or Russia and expect government forms to be offered to us in English. But these people not only expect us to provide forms, street signs, etc. in Spanish; they DEMAND it. Unbelieveable!
~Legal immigrants did not suck off the government tit. How can you possibly support welfare to illegals? Do you realize that the welfare system is funded off the backs of AMERICAN CITIZENS? Do you realize that illegals are currently - and even more so with this amnesty bill - eligible for benefits that AMERICAN CITIZENS aren't? Benefits for which WE PAY!!??
Bush absolutely favors CORPORATIONS. He doesn't give a damn about the Mexicans, Guatemalans, Colombians, etc. Hell, he's shown not one ounce of shame for the fact that he doesn't even give a damn about AMERICANS! This Amnesty Bill is FOR THE CORPORATIONS. It will make the rich richer. It will make the poor poorer by lowering wages through availability of cheap labor. It will dessimate the middle class. Do you understand that there will no longer BE a middle class? That's what the corporations want. They want NO BORDERS, FREE TRADE, MORE MONEY.

When America was allowing mass immigration from European nations, America was underpopulated. Now, the frontier has been settled and the US has fully industrialized. We have 300 million and due to birth rates of immigrants this will grow to 350 or 400 million at least. So how many more highways, strip malls and housing developments do we need before you think there has been enough immigration?
