Look, removing the whole immigration issue from your question, I doubt your math. There are always a few million people in the United States unemployed. There are homeless people. How could it be that 12 million of ANY people leaving the U.S. -- be they millionaires or street sweepers -- might cause a problem in terms of employment OR delivery of basic goods and services?

What you don't capture in your analysis is on the rear end. What you don't pay for at a purchase point you pay for in taxes. You may pay less for food or clothing but to help out low income workers you pay in taxes.I would rather pay more at a purchase point than pay in taxes.

The real problem affecting the U.S. working class is declining wages and the offshoring of good-paying jobs. That is the expected result of globalization which opens the borders of all nations to international capital while enslaving the local populations to the nation-state. The only solution to the abuses inflicted upon the working class by international capital is an international labor movement. The old union battle-cry of "an injury to one is an injury to all" is as true as ever -- only now that battle-cry is an international one.
The American worker isn't interested in Mexicans coming here and being our slaves. The American worker is concerned that the Mexican worker is coming here and pushing down our wages. What the American worker is finding difficult to learn is that the sealing of borders will do nothing to alleviate that problem.
Our wages are being attacked by our own wealthy elite who dominate our lives in every capacity. They rule our workplace, the media, our education system and all aspects of our government. It is that ruling elite that is using their massive wealth to promote their agenda of class warfare on an international basis. The true enemy of the American public is not the Mexican worker or any other foreign workers.
The true enemy is our own wealthy capitalists whose greed and desire for ever-more wealth is insatiable. The pursuit of that wealthy elite is to roll back all of the progressive gains made by the American worker over the past century. It was that wealthy elite who fought against every improvement that the American worker demanded.
But the wealthy elite have the upper hand now, and only an international labor movement that pursues the decent treatment of all of the world's workers can save the American worker from his ultimate fate of demise into that of third world worker status -- a fate his ancestors in the late 19th and early 20th century knew well.

Currently, we import much of our fruits and veggies. And, I can build my own house if I want to. Unfortunately, I can't afford a house, because the good carpenter jobs have been taken over by illegals and a bunch of money grubbing contractors who only care about how fast and cheap they turn over a property. Quality does not matter. How about we United Statesians start telling contractors, If it ain't built by Citizens, then I don't want it!!
If we let illegals stay, and give them a free pass and passes for their mums and poppys and brothers and sistas, then the population will increase enourmously. That is what will drive prices up. more demand than supply !! Think about that. Millions more cars on the roads, not enough gas, millions more mouths to feed, not enough fruits and veggies, millions more toilets to flush, not enough water, millions more tons of garbage to dispose of, not enough landfills...
Getting rid of the illegals will benefit society in the United States.
People think that if we don't give them citezenhip they will all eventually announce that they are illegal and be willing to go back to Mexico. We won't do that. They will just stay here like they've been dooing wasting our tax money. If we give them citezenship we get taxes. They have already brought down the salary of our jobs and giving them citizenship will not bring it down anymore. Also, you need people to do the lower class jobs. In this country all the people mostly have good jobs but, you need people willing to do stuff like working in factories and on farms-this is why we are sending all our jobs over seas but, if we get these illegal immigrants to do these jobs then, we have people doing them here and it won't mess up our economy because the peole are living and buying things here helping our economy-not China's economy.
To summarize
They are wasting our money by not paying taxes.
You need people to do lower class jobs.
You can't find all the illegal immigrants and deport them.
We must give them citizenship-it is the only realistic solution.
And the guy before me acts like they're not already here- this hasn't already happened so it won't happen when we give them citezenship.
Immigrant labor is being scapegoated by the U.S. ruling elite who are the real criminals. It is the super-rich who are responsible for the driving down of American's wages and they are diverting our attention in a direction that is harmless to themselves and their position of privilege.
I would rather pay the increase than pay more in the tax it requires to print everything in 2 or more languages, pay for your health care and your education, for the interpretur when you or your offspring end up in court, and you will,or to pay for your lawyers fees, or the cost of covering up your assinine grafitti, cleaning up all the trash you leave everywhere you go, since your used to throwing it out the window of your cars(look at Mexico) and just about everything that is associated with you being here. es I would rather pay more for an apple.
I believe the cost exchange for social services verses illegal immigration is much more.
