it really isnt important to change those things... all we have to do is enforce the 1986 amnesty bill.
it required:
stronger border control
fining employers for hiring illegals
give employers the ability to see if they are hiring an illegal
but of course, those are just unfulfilled promises.. just like this 2007 amnesty bill would have done.

There are no problems with our current laws (except we need to replace the immigration quota to curtail Mexico's near monopoly on the whole thing), only with their enforcement.

How about we don't need any new laws, we only need to have our citizens' rights preserved and protected by enforcing immigration laws.
you may find that not only are the Mexicans here for work they are here running from the law or a gang war. We need to know really why they are here and should we trust them with out knowing. I have meet a few them, they can't speak English very well and they seem to get mad when you can't speak Spanish, we are not the ones who are in their country. For the most part the ones I have meet are very good turned an seem very nice, If I were them I think I would be home sick. They need help of some kind but I would not know what would be best for them or us. But I guess your question is about more than one group of people so I only know about the ones I have meet, I couldn't say about the others, sorry..GOOD LUCK TO ALL....EVERYWHERE

Nothing important about amending our immigration laws as we did that in 86. What is important, is enforcing existing laws. Multinational corporations want to continue to lower the wages of middle class wage earners by importing more cheap labor & these current laws impede that.
Braceros and Balseros enter to the USA because border patrol and coast guard are not doing their job, or because probably coyotes in both sides of the border are corrupt!

Braceros and Balseros are technically illegal immigrants before they touch U.S soil.
Once they touch U.S soil they have to be treated as guests and Immigrants.
