Can you marry someone who's an illegal immagrant?

Can an US citizen marry someone who came into the US legally but his/her visa has been expired for several years therefore that person is living in the States without a legal status?

Answer:
Of course you can marry him, but it's not the free path to non deportation status that it used to be. Plus, if the marriage is found to be done for purposes of staying in this country, he'll be deported and you'll face criminal charges and prison time.
well .. that is the point. By marrying him you are helping him out to become legal. He might need to go back to his country of origin and then come back already married to you.
Why would anyone want to marry a criminal? You can probably find someone much better for you who is not living their life illegally. You certainly wouldn't marry a murderer or a drug dealer would you?
Sure can. Only thing is you risk them being deported at any time and not getting back into this country unless they come through Mexico.
yes u can.

no visa is requested when u marry someone.
yeah they can get married but if the government finds out it is a shame marriage there will big trouble
of course you can. But...your partner may still get deported! Sound grim?? Its possible. So if you marry someone who is illegal...then that the risk!

What you do is...do the paperwork to make them legal..pay the bill...and walk the staright and narrow path to legality!

You can get an immigation lawyer too..but they're expensive.
I think you can. AND NO an illegal immigrant is not the same as a murderer, thief, or anything like that, as somebody posted.
That is how he/she will become legal..by matrimony.
Yes, you can marry him but that does not mean that will not give him legal status.
yes, but I would reccomend that they leave the US voluntarily, and then you and him get married wherever he is from. You have to do the paperwork, and sponsor him. He will have a process to go through. Getting married won't make him legal just because you are.
I doubt they would issue a marriage license to an illegal alien. It might also draw attention to the fact that he is illegally here (AKA a criminal for breaking our laws).
Yes I suppose you can. They will still have to straighten out their status here. It would probably help them move their paperwork faster.
Have him go back to his native country. You send him notarized affidavit of your engagement and intent to marry on such and such a date, (Give yourself enough time to see if it's love or lust), and have him apply for a Fiancee' Visa to come to the US. Then when you are married, he can take his fiancee' visa and marriage certificate to immigration and have his status changed to resident alien by marriage to a US citizen. If he can't get a fiancee' visa, there's probably a reason that you don't know about yet and are better off without him. This is not a fast process, but it is a legal one.
how much? I'm sorry ¿Cuánto me pagarás?
I could make it happen.
No, he has to be here legally!! His visa being expired and overstaying shows he has no regard for the law Period !
Yes you can marry almost any 1 you want, but why would you,He is a criminal an wanted for Numerous laws broken. The Amnesty bill failed all hope gone. When caught he could or will be jail & deported. An if your married to him than are ready to move to the country he came from. It's won't be a vaction. Best find out if they will execpt you like we do here, Or will they reject you. There are a lot of issues you need to look into before commiting youself.
You can but he can be deported at any time. And if they find out marriage is a sham for him to try to get naturalized you can go to jail.
You should ask yourself, Do you love him enough to move to his country?, cuz that's what it may come to..
You can marry an Illegal Alien. This grants no rights to your new spouse. you can then apply for a green card for your spouse. Be aware, if you sponsor your spouse you legally have to support that person for ten years even if you get divorced.
I say go for it if you really love this person- he was honest enough to tell you his status.
For the record he is not a criminal since most people who take up residency in the US illegal normally are seeking better life. If he just wanted his papers and green card he wouldnt have wasted so many years and waited for his visa to expire. He obviously was searching for Mrs. Right.
Good Luck.
Yes you can, all they need is their birth certificate, and an Id of some sort it can be their consulate card, or their passport. By marrying him though it does not guarantee he can stay here with you. Your best bet is to marry him in his home country and then start the process. That way the two of you are not separated from each other. I have a friend who married a Mexican and they have been separated for 5 years while waiting for some sort of an answer. Good luck, it's not easy.
yah u r a traitor
