I believe in open borders, but I don't support this bill because of its guest worker program. (I know the legislation is being revived, but I'm not sure if Congress is bringing back the guest worker provision.) The reason? Because guest worker basically amounts to indentured servitude. The employer in essence sponsors your immigration. If you're fired, the employer gets to deport you. You're at the mercy of your boss. That just creeps the hell out of me.
Passing the immigration bill without debate means it is not going to be the best to serve everyone's interest.

For the life of me I do not understand why anyone would think, well its not perfect but we should do it anyway? You consider that intelligent? Neither side is really pleased with this bill and the way the bill has been brought to life and handled in complete secrecy does not bode well for the public. If you have not studied the bill I suggest you do so. By the way intelligent people do not generally resort to name calling and taunting using brain size, just thought you should know.

I find this very insulting. I understand the pros and cons of this particular bill, but feel strongly against amnesty. Passing this bill will reward those who break the law of our land and compromise our security in this nation.

The best laws we have by the way are the ones that don't get enforced. Had they been enforced when they were supposed to, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
