If you are born and live in another country, do you have to live in another country to become a citizan?
and I am born and live in Australia, If I want
to hold a duel citizanship, do I have to have lived
in America first?
Answer:
If either of your Parents are US Citizens by birth you could apply.
Other then that then no you can't become a US citizen unless you live in the US and wait either 3 or 5 years after you obtain your Green Card. (permanent resident)
You cannot obtain US citizenship just because your boyfriend is one. If you get married then he can apply for a visa to bring you over.(if he can prove he can support you).
You can have dual citizenship if Australia allows it. The US doesn't really like it but do acknowledge it now.

I don't think so....
I am Canadian, and I've applied for U.S. citizenship...uh, that is until Bush got elected, then I withdrew my application...
Not necessarily first but you would be required to live there for a certain amount of time before you could apply for Citizenship.
Duel Citizenship is certainly possible. The late Peter Jennings was a native Canadian yet held duel citizenship within the United States during His Journalism Career.
