What is the difference between regular "immigrants" and Puerto Ricans from Puerto Rico who want independence?
Answer:
I believe some Puerto Ricans want their country to break away from US ties. Not sure.My hairdresser, girlfriend is form Puerto Rico, I will ask her next time I see her.
Puerto Ricans from Puerto Rico ARE citizens of the United States and, as such, are not immigrants. I believe they "emigrate" or move from one place in a country to another.
Immigrants don't want independence from a country. They want to be members of another society and often, but not always, want to be citizens of that country. Independistas want Puerto Rico to be its own country and not part of the US. Very few of Puerto Ricans are Independistas. (My husband and his family are from the island and emigrated to the mainland.)
No difference. They are both leeches that get U.S. Government benefits and representation without taxation.
puerto ricans are punks ..they let themselfs get taken over by another country
Immigrants aren't citizens, unless they apply and are "naturalized." Puerto Ricans are citizens.
