Your ideal country?

If you had to pack up and leave the country you were in, which country would be considered most desirable for you to live in and for what reasons?

Answer:
Oh, that's a really hard question, but a good one!
I was raised as a missionary kid, so I learned to love and appreciate all the countries and cultures, etc.
But I guess I would go to back to Africa. Not because it's "comfortable" but because I love the people, and I am sure they need more aid. Which I am willing to give.
I am currently in Taiwan. ( And I love it here)
I would never leave, I feel lucky to be here.
I would never leave the United States, so for me your question is moot.
France or Italy, i love their culture.
I would try to make the USA into the "ideal country" before I packed up and left altogether.
France or the Netherlands. The Dutch are very laid-back and tolerant; the French have a better quality of life than the U.S. or Canada (which is where I live).
Australia.

Now personally I like the government of Switzerland, but Europe is heading towards disaster. The aussies have most of their stuff together. And while most of their land is not inhabitable, future technology is desalination (ie making sea water drinkable) is a thing to look forward to.

They're also paying attention to their birth rate and trying to maintain a descent productive class in the country. They're energy policy is beginning to be quite diverse, and not wholly idealistic.

And then you don't have much illegal immigration...can't really. The sea is a good barrier.

I don't agree with their gun laws, but I think that's a minor concession in a country where there won't be too much crime anyways. So I would move there for both political and job reasons as well.

I live in the US, and while I love it's Constitution (which degrades as time goes by) and I think it can be correct...I worry that it's future may be in danger.
I'm in Canada and I think I already am in the most ideal country. If I had to pick up and move, New Zealand or Australia I guess, it'd be warmer in winter that's for sure.

I think most commonwealth countries generally share the same ' world view' anyway.
I live in the US

And I would have to choose no other than the US.
Hey, America and every other country in the world is not perfect but I think the US is better to live in. 1- It has just about every type of person in the world, very diverse very free. 2- I love big cities and Chicago and New York City are the reasons I want to live here. I will move to NYC soon just to let you know.

And since this question was asked in the immigration category, it doesn't matter to me about immigration. I know the issue is big here but come on, they aren't coming here to invade and kill. They help us out.
I love the USA and would never want to leave it. But if I had to I guess I'd choose Australia.
I'm in the USA, and I don't want to go anywhere else. I'd rather be a cactus in Texas than the King of England, but I suppose if I had to go somewhere else, it would be Cuba. The climate is a tropical paradise, the cigars are the stuff of legend, and it's the world's largest antique American car museum. All the cars that were there in the 40's and 50's when Castro took over are still there! And you wouldn't believe how they look! Like they were driven out of a showroom yesterday! Yeah, if I HAD to leave this country, that's the one I'd like to see, but it ain't happenin" until "El Loco" dies.
I already live in the best country... but if I had to chose another it would be Australia.
I live in U.S. and don't want to leave, but if I had to, I'd go to Australia. I'd never go to Europe as they are too far along the Socialism path. The Dutch are crazy, they've made it legal to kill old people and already born babies if there are no use for them.
I live in the US, but if I had to move to another country, it would be the Philippines..
Ireland,loved it!
Funny how life is.I now live part-time in Hungary (my husband was born in Hungary) I never even thought about living here just a few years ago. At least one of us speaks the language and the money can go a bit further. It really isn't very much different to me. They have most everything I like over here. Great food, wildlife, water sports, entertainment, good doctors at reasonable prices. All in all it is ok but really there is no place like home. USA!
