Should we get rid of the "anchor baby" law??
Therefore, it then becomes illegal to deport the child, and even I agree that you cannot deport the mother of a baby, even if she is an illegal alien. Therefore, the baby "anchors" the mother in America.
So should we quit granting get-out-of-Mexico free cards, and stop giving these babies citizenship? That way, if someone wants to be a citizen, they go through the legal methods, instead of just popping out kids.
Answer:
100% Agree with you! So does this presidential candidate...

Edit: Only babies with at least one American parent should be considered Natural Born Citizens.
i agree with you only in the context of those women who specifically come here to give birth.
Those who have been here for years and then have a child, no.
This is not a phenomenon only from Mexico despite what you think. Women from all over do that. South Korea has a thriving business of "vacations" to pregnant Koreans who come here, get taken to specific houses to give birth and get the paperwork for the child. The difference is they leave and go home to South Korea. They do this " vacation" so the child when they turn 18 can attend school in the U.S. at lower rates and they also avoid mandatory military service
YES!!! This is BS, and should have been STOPPED many years ago!!
I've seen this happen myself, way TOO MANY times!!! I live in a border state, and let me tell you, we are getting FED UP with these lowlife, MOOCHERS!!
All those FREELOADERS have to do is sneak over here and have their damn kid,and right away, they are given everything!! FREAKIN RIDICULOUS!!!
Yes, we should get rid of the misused anchor baby law that was never intended to give citizenship to children of illegals. I don't understand why you think we shouldn't deport the parents of these children, though. They can take their children with them. We don't own them because they are considered to be citizens, and they would not lose their status if they wanted to return later. This law, even as it is, should not anchor anyone here who isn't supposed to be here.
I wish i had an Irishman with me. I think the law in Ireland is your parents or grandparents must be citizens before that baby can also be declared a citizen. If true, I tip my hat to the smart thinking Irish!!!
Anchor babies help in obtaining welfare benefits, but are not 100% effective in preventing deportation. I think the 14th Amendment should be amended again, or a new Amendment added to the Constitution that does not grant automatic citizenship to children of illegal aliens. I also think that hospitals should not admit maternity patients that are illegal aliens. Americans are paying for birth and maternity care for illegal alien mothers, one of the reasons why health insurance premiums are sky high.
That Law is ridiculous, and has been from the very start! Repeal that law. We Americans don't give a crap if you have a baby here or anywhere else. Don't however think that by having your kid on American soil won't keep us from deporting your sorry $@& and the baby as well. Get the proper Visa like the rest of the legal immigrants and then come on over. If not, keep your sorry rear end down south!
Yes. Is'nt that just a law to help them get our social services for free basically?
