I'm considering attending a Swiss University for my graduate degree, and if I end up liking the country, I'd consider settling down there for the long term.
How difficult is it to get Swiss residency? I've heard gaining citizenship is almost impossible, so I'm trying to be realistic.
Answer:
It is nearly impossible, unless you can prove Swiss heritage. Even having Swiss ancestors, it is very hard. The Swiss are very protective of their country. And, you cannot buy real estate if you are not a citizen.
I don't blame you. I'm part Swiss, and would love to live there, too!
