Why do we judge on the colour of our skin?
We don't view white dogs as superior to black. And just how many generations does a family have to live in a country before they are regarded as 'belonging'? I can only go back 3/4 generations and be sure my ancestors still lived in Scotland. But I am regarded as belonging? What is going on in this world?
Answer:
the slavery movement started all of this as white people being superior to black. i am of many races my mother is black and my father is Honduran and Spanish. my great grand mother is french and black and because i came out darker does not mean I'm less of a person who is lighter than me.but this world is all about jealousy like Christians against Muslims, black against white, sunnies against shites. its all over if you don't look like something which other people approve of the criticize you and it is sad this world has to be this way.
p.s dont listen to other arrogant people... if you know you are not racist and welcome all people from all walks of lifes then you are a smart person and have grate morality and i respect you for that and i wish this world would be like that, instead of stuck up and childish.
No matter what, it seems almost natural for humans to discriminate against what is different in general, whether it is race, religion, political views, morality.it's sad, but true.

Society has shaped us this way
People tend to use first impressions as only impressions because of laziness and self righteousness. Thats why people judge other people by the color of their skin, how fat they are, how big their boobs are etc.
Isn't it the same with other cultures too though?
If you are in your own culture, you will think it's superior than anothers because it is your way and you think your way is better. I wouldn't limit it to just whites and blacks.
I don't think this way, I think everyone is unique and different and that's good. We are all human and have the same problems in life (just different scenarios)
Indeed there's no Ku Klux Kats...although there are Black Panthers haha!
Racism is a pea-brained 'philosophy', or whatever. I think once you're born in a country you're that nationality. You're born inside political lines that's it. There's no litmus that 'this, this and this can only equate that'.
I feel that people confuse skin color with education. Its not about skin color at all.. its all about education and unfortunitly I think people put themselves into stereotypes. I don't care what color your skin is (or sex)... if you have a good education you can be president someday!
You now what annoys me is people slamming white ppl like they are the only ones who are rasict.(NOT ALL, SOME) like in every other race. Whites are no more hateful that anyone else. There are plenty of white trash just like EVERYOTHER race. So for you to put white ppl down in an effort to show you embrase other colors is silly.
You are making a judgment based on the color of skin in you question: " I get so annoyed at the small minded belief that anyone who is not white is not worth it. "
It goes both ways honey! Racism against whites is present too!
It is natural for us to look after those that are closest to us. It makes sense that a race would look after itself because they have a common history and culture as well as interconnecting bloodlines. It seems that people look at their race as a huge family.
Racist people (whatever colour they might be)
are cowards who hide behind a veil of hatred to
cope with their own insecurities and failures.
Their hatred allows them to distract themselves from the reality of their
existence:that they are capable of being just as impoverished, ignorant, filthy, and immoral as any other human being could be.
People have long favored whiter skin over dark. At some points in history dark skin was an indication of a person who labors in the sun while pale skin marks a person who had the luxury of staying indoors.
Even within single racial groups there is a tendency to favor light skin. People have a desire to feel superior or to belong to the superior group. Nothing can change that. However, each individual has a choice to deal with others as respected equals or they can revel in the temporary and frequently incorrect feeling of superiority. I choose to be comfortable in myself. My saying is:
If you have a problem with my skin
Then YOU have a problem.
We could say that your question is racist since you have stereotyped whites. You have just judged people on their skin color.
People are always looking for a way to distinguish themselves from others and then deciding that that distinction makes them superior. I like the Dr. Seuss book about the two groups of people who judged each other because one group had circles on their bellies and the others didn't. Same thing with skin color, height, nation of origin, etc.
If we were all blind the race wouldn't be an issue because I don't think you can hate what you can't see. But when you see my white face, I'm already a KKK nationalist and I'm out to get anyone who isn't white. Sad! But the other races at issue here hate anyone who is not like them, too. Don't kid yourself, lassie. You'd have about a snowball's chance in H*ll in some parts of this country so accept the fact that you're white and don't hate the rest of us for it either! What is going on here when we turn on our own is right! I have friends of different origins and we have managed to see the things we have in common versus the color thing. It would be nice if the world could do that but it's a long time coming. Would any of us hate if we weren't hated?
Racism goes far beyond skin color. When they talk about racism, this practice of demeaning and denying based on the darkness of skin, people shrug. Sometimes in words, sometimes in the actual gesture. Either way, it bespeaks a presumption that racism is inevitable, comes programmed into the human psyche. That, regrettable as it may be, we are naturally inclined to judge people based on race. But maybe we are not...
We don't judge by the color of someones skin. However those of color will use that as their primary defense.
I AM PROUD TO BE A GOOD ENGINEER
All the rest was from my birth, but this, I worked hard for and earned it !!
I have been color blind my entire life. I am just sick of being called a racist just because I am white and disagree with illegal immigration. Trust me, white people are not all racists.
But some people of color truly are. Check out La Raza.
Who is we? I don't do that. But I am presumed by many to feel this way because I am white (with a nice dash of Native American, but most see me as caucasian). I am sick of the racism as much as any non-white. What does a white person have to do to prove they are not racist? Why are we presumed by so many to be born racist, and can only redeem ourselves through self hatred?
I don't like being treated differently because I am white either. I have actually been told that I could not move into a certain set of apartments because I wasn't Mexican. The same apartments I grew up in as a child. I kid you not. I (and many others I know) have been refused jobs for the same reason.
I do not judge based on skin color, maybe your running with the wrong crowd.
Racism is a man made thing,an idea a thought. if one subscribes to it or not is up to them.
What someone else said above...if it isn't skin then it is hair. If it isn't hair then it is eyes. Are they slanted or straight. If it isn't that it is where you're from. The most popular kids do the most bullying of the social rejects in school. It is just like school in adult world except they bully and segragate themselves on a much more dramatic scale; namely class, race, religion, sexuality, geograpahy. The most fit beat their ideas and ideals into the ones who they defeat and they set the accepted norms.
A lot of people don't connect that to do these things are wrong, manmaid, non-essential, and worse of all detrimental to humanity. But for those that are on the profitable end of things...the rich, whites, heterosexuals, many care more for the gains of the "setting apart" than the fact that it is destructive to others. Human nature. We are all capable of the same that is why within groups you see the same "setting apart" of each other. For instance among blacks you have light skin, dark skin, rich, poor segrating and this happens all over the world within all minority groups -- even among the majority their is setting apart like the negativity towards the Irish for a long time.
But we all have choice and many people choose to do what benefits them in the long run--right or wrong. Most just follow leaders.
I call it all sin as does the bible and put my faith only in God not humanity because humanity is full of sin and not God. That is not to say that I am writing off humanity. I do believe in people, but we are all on our own path. Many want to be good and so I see it as we are all trying to become what Christ was. He was the example, but as we mature in life and give up silly notions and childish things by experiences and learning from them so do we over lifetimes and through generations grow to be better people towards other people. That is just my perspective because without the spiritual there to me is no answer or purpose for the physical and we may as well finish killing each other off. But we are all more than that. Thus, the purpose of Karma/sowing and reaping. I hope you believe so because there in lies peace.
I think racism is a learned trait
Its from people that dont have enough mindpower to weigh out the facts and think for themselves.
Instead they let, what they have been taught by their group, influence how they feel.
It is the tell tell signs of a lazy mind and ignorance.
If you came and stayed legally you belong.
I said that many times before: our mentality is still not that far from our animals ancestors' instincts. A herd of grey wolves will bite to death the stranger with white fur. Sadly, many of us are happy with that.
