What will the Democrats think of next?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,2741...

How much more are the Americans expected to deal with?

what a way to get votes.

Answer:
Unfortunately this is not just a Democrat proposal. It is being headed up by McCain and Kennedy. It is being supported by both Dem's and repubs including the President. The Republican party has really let me down.
A) This is an editorial and not a news article.

B) Guess who is backing this bill...BUSH.
I thought is was a bi-partisan bill that was supported by Bush or were you blinded with rage for democrats when you saw Ted Kennedy's name?
Why are you blaming this on the Democrats? Without Bush pressuring other Republicans to go along with his amnesty plan, this bill would never have made it to the floor of the Senate.

I've blamed the Democrats for their wrongdoings before, and I'll do it again. But right now I'm more interested in fixing my party than I am in playing the kind of blind partisan game you've been conditioned to accept as normal.

When the stupid and overly muddled educated out number those with common sense, you get democrats in control. Lets hope they stop "thinking." (and I use the tern losely!)
" So I ask you — do you want a one party system in America? Because that's what The San Francisco Chronicle, The Baltimore Sun, The Los Angeles Times and The Atlanta Journal Constitution want. All of those papers lamented today that even more foreign nationals are not being allowed to come to America. "
Non sequitor... He is implying that all people who want more immigrants to come are in favor of a one-party system. That is absurd. First, because our winner-takes-all system creates 2 competing parties that move on a sliding scale based on popular sentiment, i.e. if popular opinion shifts to being more stringent on handgun control, the officials elected on both sides of the aisle will reflect this.
Additionally, when we differentiate, in a post-cold war world between Cubans (the only country we cannot visit) and Mexicans arriving without visas, we are cutting a very thin line. That one group tends to vote republican and the other democrat, should not perpetuate the outdated belief that Cuba is an ideological or economic threat to Amerca. when, we are simply providing fodder to the ridiculous Chavistas.
Finally, I would only suggest the possibility that we are wrong. Our government was designed to protect against the emotions of the people and has disconnects in the electoral college as well as in the lack of inter-term jeopardy for elected officials.

addition: I would appreciate an explanation for the thumbs down. Gerrymandering is not new, it is big business, so I would like to know the basis for the negative rating.
It bi-partisan not Democrat.
A knee jerk reaction is like jingoism it isn't edifying.
As to change ; That silly little liberal state of Vermont went and voted a third party member to the Senate (A Socialist can you imagine that) , a Democrat to Congress (they only have one) and Republicans to most of the State Executive Offices from Governor on down.
Go figure.
It's proof that a third party can be elected.
