Does "La Raza" hate white people?
Well wich people are "THE people"? I'm assuming it's not
white people or Americans.
Which people is it? Is it the Mexican people or just anyone with brown skin?
Can you understand why we Americans, with a history of racial issues might be slightly shocked by a group wich operates inside our country using a foriegn language and calls itself "THE race"[litteral translation]?

Initially, it began as "The Brown Berets", but most agreed that it sounded to "militant", like the "Black Panther Party".
It started off as a means to accomplish a brotherhood and unity of all Hispanics and Latinos during a time of violence amongst themselves. It was an attempt to curb the gang violence that saw no end in sight. It is and always has been due to the fact that Latinos and Hispanics have for the longest time needed a leader...A representative, so to speak.
It has also served as a reminder that they have much to be proud of, despite the oppression and obstacles that still continue to be a part of their lives...

Being mexican is a choice of nationality not of race. Their are caucasian folks who are mexican. Alot of them. Look at their soap operas.

After clicking on the link Steddy provided, I am still amazed as how LaRazza or any other organization ( my favorite NAACP)created to "promote opportunities" for anyone based soley on their race can be anything other than a racist organization quietly promoting their own brand of racism tailored to fit their own needs.
After all, isn't that why there is no NAAWP ( National association for the advancement of white people.)
No, no one is ever going to see past race as long as people choose to wield their race as a tool when it serves them.
They may not hate us, but they sure are proud that they aren't us when (yet again) it serves them.
I would have to say that they do indeed hate whites,based not on anything they say but on their actions. They are clearly supporters of the idea of reconquest of what they see as Mexican territory,or the whole Aztlan nonsense. That to me is pretty racist. Mostly I don't care what they think but I have to say I consider them a dangerous group,I personally think they should be listed as a hate group just like the KKK,but you can't do that if the group represents a "minority" group.

Ok let me say that La Raza is interested in promoting the advancement of their race so as not to be shut out from opportunities. As a hispanic citizen of this country I have to say that I disagree with a large part of their agendas. However, they do not hate white people, some within the organization may, but it is not their philosophy to promote hatred of any group. Yes, the literal translation means the race, but for them it's a pride thing. They are not trying to say they are superior, just proud of who they are. It's kind of backwards.
La Raze main purpose is to make it's self and it's members what the Christian Collation is to the GOP, to the Democratic Party. Meaning that the Dem's will check with the La Raze before making any type of decisions, and will bend and kiss their butts
