I'm 26 years old and I currently have American Citizenship only but my family's background is French by 3rd Generation (my great great-grandfather was born and raised in Corsica). Can I or my mother still apply for French citizenship given this situation? If yes, what do I need to do or what kind of documents should I present when applying? Thanks to everyone in advance! =)
Answer:
Your mum can get French citizenship if she was born in France or a French territory as well as they must be currently resident in France at the time of application; and they must have lived at least 5 years (continuously or discontinuously) in France since the age of 11).
You do not qualify.
