Go ahead and try not to! It's difficult to avoid, you better check everything and if you're in wal-mart you better check twice.
We all do; Our products have been outsourced for a long while. So that would be hard to see which specific products are not Made in China.
Yes, I bought an American Flag made in China.

A better question would be: what do you buy which is not from China ?
Not to mention that china has the highest concentration of pollution than any other nation.

i try not to buy anything that is made in china but sometimes is impossible, I don't really have an idea how much we export from them but i know is alot, at the same time i feel sorry for the people they are so poor so if you keep buying stuff made over there more money they make.
Not on purpose. I looked up from a shrimp cocktail the other day to hear that Chinese seafood, particularly shrimp, was being pulled, and threw the cocktail away. I have no idea where the shrimp came from.
There is a law on the books that they keep delaying putting into effect which would make them label where food products come from. I would buy American wherever feasible. Many would do the same, which they know, which is why they don't do it.

There is no evidence that the toothpaste is making Americans sick. Even the government in the states say the amounts they have found are not harmful.
Pets is a tragedy, that is not done by the government, but rather private enterprise. Things like this have happened in the states.
If China was so unsafe, then the Chinese people would be dropping like flies and that is simply not the case. I believe their life expectancy is 74 years vs our 77 years and shortly they will be on parity with the west.
I don't know how to say this any clearer, but you are being spoon fed China hatred, in part by the USA government, but mostly talking heads.
Do some research on your own and you'll find out soon enough its mostly smoke and mirrors.
Also, in retaliation, China is doing the same thing we are. I consider both sides monumentally childish.

First...there is none to little evidence any of the stuff your claiming dangerous is in fact that dangerous. There's just been reports of POSSIBLE quality concerns...
Also note how China has done basicly the same thing on many US products...most likely simply in retaliation...but what if people everywhere were saying: Do you buy products made in the US?? With U.S.-made orange pulp and dried apricots containing high levels of bacteria and preservatives, it's making thousands sick!
Third, I'm an American and I'm in China right now...I'm "right at the source!" OH NO! I"M GONNA DIE! Naa I'm fine. I agree pollutions a problem, but it's getting better...
Again, as previously said, try to find what you don't use that's made from China. Even millionairs prefer chinese stuff. It's much cheaperSure, so stuff like tools may be deemed by a few to not be as high quality, but I bought the exact same shirt here in China as in the U.S. and it was 20 dollars cheaper...and I kinda like the new shirt better. It's not as worn yet :)
A last note on the quality...most of it is BS. I had a woodworker show me a set of "high quality US drills"...he said they were top notch and much better. He also showed me a set of "Chinese crap drills, just for testing and stuff cause some have already broken." Turns out first the US drill was made in China...and he actually mixed the two drills up and the one he use for his high quality woodwork was the Chinese one...it was the "high quality US drills" that broke...
