A sweeping measure moving through the Legislature would deny welfare benefits, in-state college tuition rates and numerous state subsidies to those in the country illegally.
It would also empower police to detain illegal immigrants and require businesses that do work for the state to prove that their employees are legally in the country.
The legislation passed the Oklahoma House of Representatives 88-9 last month.
Democratic Gov. Brad Henry portrayed himself as tough on illegal immigration during his re-election campaign last year but has not taken a position on the measure. His office did not return several requests for comment last week.

I am thrilled to hear this. All it takes is a few states to get the ball rolling and then others will join in because if they don't, they will find themselves flooded with the illegals leaving the states which are not welcoming to illegal immigrants, to the point where those states they flood into will not be able to cope and will have to come up with the same type of laws, themselves. Once this sort of thing gets going, it will have a snowball effect. Wait and see......
Great idea, but the liberal judges and the scum of the ACLU will will probably get it overturned in the courts.

It is the only way that we can stop illegal immigration. We don't have the man power to patrol the hundreds of miles of border adequately. If there are no free benefits and jobs here they will cease to pour into this country.

I think that America is scared of their wicked ways blowing up in their face. They might as well say to every colored person to leave. Because white America has a problem with every nationality getting stronger, wether in population or economically. First they stole colored people from thier own countries, and now that it is getting out of hand they want to have these crazed caucasion people gaurding their so-called land and borders, terrorizing gods children like the jews did Jesus. Jesus is a sign for all minority people to have faith and be fearless to this open enemy.
