The total population of the region has been estimated to be about 4.9 million in 2007, making it the 21st largest metropolitan area in the Americas.
The San Ysidro border crossing (San Diego-Tijuana) is the busiest border crossing in the world, in 2005 41,417,164 people entered the US through this port.
Answer:
Millions of Mexicans in CA. and Thousands of Americans in Baja. Many of them are Mexican-Americans with dual Citizenship.
I don't think anyone can answer this correctly. There is too many people going and coming to get an accurate count.
Turnstiles with counters might help estimate the flow and ebb. My friend in San Diego tells me there are more Mexicans there then Americans in Tijuana. Legal or illegal it's hard to tell anyone apart and why bother. If the US were to conquer Mexico and cut it up into new states would we not all be better off? Why stop there, we could take Canada too.
An unanswerable question.
However if you include all of California, and all of Baja the total figures would be mighty impressive.
I've heard during the winter months southern Baja is like Miami Florida at times...lots of snowbirds.
Too many Mexicans are in San Diego.
Americans who live in Tijuana had to pass Mexico's strict requirements or they'd been deported or jailed.
