Married for 15years to a malay, have 4 children born in Malaysia.Invested large sums of money in Malaysia, bringing employment to locals. Still have immigration problems. Should I take my investment elsewhere? or can somebody tell me that I will get a permenant residence or at least a long duration of stay, instead of year by year, and paying out nearly rm2000. Seems as I or my investment are not welcome here. Has anybody considered that this may be the reason so many people are leaving, including Malaysians themselves. Many Malaysians marry foreigners, the foreigners are not welcome, so spouses follow them back to foreign land. Waste of foreign talent if you ask me.

This all depends.
Things might be "easier" if youre a muslim or if you knows somebody in high position.
However since you already invested a lot do give another try.If still fails..my advice is to invest in Thailand.The thais only looks at your bank account and how many local your company will hires anyway.
my experience with Malaysians immigration , has been very positive, they also give the longest visa on demand time, in Thailand one needs to renew ones non immigrant visa every year. One also has the obligation of informing Thai immigration every 90 days of their address of residence. I think you need to look into a permanent residency in
Malaysia if you want a more that one year approval.
