Some people here and even on the radio saying it's about immigration is just plain dumb. Stop making this a political issue.how silly and immature some people here sound, always thinking everything is about immigration (roll eyes)

The people who booed her said they were doing so in protest of America's stance on illegal immigrants.
The better question would be " does anyone care that Miss USA was booed"

I watched it and I believe with all of my heart they booed her, because she was an American. Right now it's all about immigration. People are pissed that our elected officials want to give these people, these criminals a pass!
Because at this point United States have reached a worldwide inpopularity because of conflicts as Iraq, Iran, Middle East and inmigration issues! There is a an anti-american feeling on Miss Universe contest!
They didn't boo her because she fell, and others have fallen to, One can't help catching a heel or a skirt and taken a tumble for it, they boo because she represented the USA and were protesting our illegal immigration stance! (rolling my eyes)!

The question people are asking is, isn't it relevant to our immigration policies whether they are letting in more people from a nation where people hate us than from anywhere else?

No. The reason she was booed by a contingent at the event was because of many Americans' stand on illegal immigrants. They didn't appreciate having Yankees say "Illegals, Go Home."
It's a fact; it was in more than one news story.
1) Because she stumbled

If you had been following the news, you would have known that over the past week, she has been booed several times because of the animosity between Mexico and the USA over the current immigration reform arguments. She was still called to be in the top 5 after the spill. She is a beautiful girl who could very well have won, had it not been for the accident. And.Miss Japan was not the most beautiful girl. Miss Angola or Miss Brazil should have won. There's a lot more politicking going on in these contests than people want to believe.
And even it that was the case, at least they didn't try to deport her or all the other Americans living Mexico.
The whole thing is just a way for Trump to pick out girlfriends, so who cares. India was hot, but miss mexico was not (in my opinion).
Still booing at pretty girls is wrong anyway you slice it.

How embarrasing for Mexicans to do that. Mexicans have no right to boo our American beauty queen or chant Osama Osama during the national anthem. I know understand the perspective of the Americans in their reasons to deport the Mexicans. You are right but not all Mexicans are like that. You are clearly mistaken on this. As with the other answers above, this was not about the fall, but about protesting America and the Mexican peoples dislike of America policy. This is not the only time Mexicans have boo'd America; they did so during our National Athem in 2005 (See linked article). I was very upset and it was completely immature and disrespectful.
On a lighter note...Miss India was beautiful, but Mexico? No, she wasn't that pretty. I certainly didn't think Japan was worthy of it either. That's what you get when your judges are a bunch of nobodies or wannabees.
