Deja veux, we have already tried this.
You are rewarding 12 million+ people for breaking our laws, we did this once already in 1986 and I think the figures were close to 2 million then. Did that solve the illegal immigration issue? Hardly.. It will not stop it this time either, it will increase until we enforce our immigration laws and we drop the hammer on companies and employers who hire illegal immigrants.
When business stops employing illegals they will stop coming and start looking elsewhere. A reform bill or amnesty (or whatever PC word we are using) will not do it as history itself proves.
Ask one simple question.
Why are they here?
Answer: Because corporations want cheap labor.

Yes, but making them legal will not stop illegal immigration, and I know many who would be able to declare themselves legal won't because they don't want to pay in back taxes and also know they won't be hunted down as hard as they are now.
It's a very double edge sword, my solutions is do what we did so many times with European immigrants when they came over, put'em in the military for 3 years and let them earn their citizenship, just the men, I know women can too, but I'm not going to send off a mother of 3 to war and I'm also not going to play the "she has kids so she doesn't have to go, but I do, that's not fair" card either.
Side note, if an immigrant serves in a war zone for 24 hours they can apply for citizenship no questions asked, and have a very easy citizen test as well while deployed.
They will cost more if they stay, even if they pay taxes. Because they don't make enough money to anything like pay their own way, and because they will be eligible for more benefits.

However, the problems with this bill go way beyond legalization. Hopefully it won't even GET to the House.
Even if they pass the bill 12 million and more will still live here and won't pay taxes. These people survive and stealing and cheating. It's their culture. Their rotten government forces them to be no other way. All we need to do is ENFORCE the current laws as they stand.

IF... I didn't believe it wasn't part of the North American Union agenda and having to do with Nafta Superhighway. I might go along with it for some but not all. They would have access to all our resources and soon as it is signed. I don't think that is right. Can the taxpayer afford that, the working class is having a hard time now. The criminals that keep coming back after they are deported should go straight to jail, the next time and it should be billed to Mexico. Alot of jobs have went to Mexico, Americans are losing their jobs because of that, and they are still coming here. What is it these companies are doing that it isn't worthwhile for them to work there and stay in their country and work to make Mexico a better country instead of coming here and wanting us to change for them. We really need some type of reform. I know immigrants think it is unfair etc. But, I can guarantee we would not be able to live in there country so freely, I as well as I don't think there country would support a family of ten off of there tax dollars. I think it is unjustifiably unfair. I am against them wanting to come to our country, hell I dont' even care if they are citizens or not! The main point is though, if they are going to live and work in our country they need to be paying taxes. They need to go through the same processes us tax paying, (most of us) hard working americans pay. I worked for a country I knew illegally hired immigrants, that were not legal to work for them!
Our country is going deeper and deeper into debt; we are all to worried about helping everyone elses needs, but where does that leave our country!
I don't care if they are here if:
1. They do not commit any crimes.
2. They do not take welfare for themselves or their children.
3. They pay taxes.
It doesn't seem that hard to me for our govt. to fix the loopholes in our system. If they commit crime deport them, they obviously don't want or deserve a better life if they are here committing crimes.
If they have babies (which you know they know how to do that) don't give the kids citizenship or welfare or any kind of aid. PERIOD.

Do you really think the government wants the 12 million people who work in this country illegally to leave, that is 12 million pay checks that have ss tax and medicare, federal, and state taken out. 12 million tax refunds at tax time that never have to be paid out. I would like to know why the worry over Social Security running out of funds with all these people paying into it every payday but never being able to claim it. Where is all that money going?
Good point. And the thing that is surely going to change is that from now on business's will have to increase wages,and compete with other companies, in order to survive. Those that don't will be for not being able to meet the finances neccessary. Unless employees will be included in the partnership dept.
Hey Moe Hey Moe whats a Green Card and a work visa, they are just like you lame brain useless, look puddinhead it is a useless ID card and piece of paper no one really uses,because our goverment came up with a bunch of lame laws and didn't enforce any of the good ones, so pepole figure they can just do as they please, because they know no one in this Goverment is going to enforce the laws they have made,our properly secure our borders, so pepole continually break our countries laws take advatage of our system, and put our poor and middle class pepole at an exterme disadvantage, having to compete for already limited jobs housing resources and benifits, but no one in our Goverment so far , is willing to take a real stand on this issue only wishing washey try to please everybody so I can get reelected politics as usual. We can deport the illegals, that is what we can do. If they wanted to be in America they should have done it the right way. How many of those "tax payers" have stolen identity. I've just finished reading that mess of an amnesty bill and have sent the President, My two state senators, and my congresswoman a list of questions that they need to answer. That bill is too loose and wide open to liberal interpretation. Sorry, I will not back off of this issue. I will not let my country be sold down the river.
They can deport them IF they WANTED to! Problem is this government doesn't want to.
HOW can they deport them? Easy...start with raiding companies and then go from there...make it illegal to rent to illegal aliens...many illegal aliens will leave on their own because it will be more costly fighting the system. Problem solved.
If they break the law then they need to pay the price!
