Good Luck. 6 months is nothing for what some people wait on INS. They are a law into themselves and do their own thing. Have fun.

they are right, most applications take well over a year. Your complaint will not be heard, and you cannot force immigration to go any faster than their normal speed. I have seen applications which "accidentally" get lost when people start to complain.
Your best course of action is to just sit and wait, just like everyone else. It sucks, but thats how the system works.
the process has gotton faster in the last 2 years. they are constanly working on making the process faster. most applcations are processed now with in a 6 month time period. now where that messes up is when you name gets hung up with the FBI. the FBI have to do there own checks and they are so backed up its not funny. so if you get stuck in the proscess just be patiant. some name checks have still been waiting for 5-7 years. just keep checking http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis... and make appointments to go in and ask questions. the officers at the counter are polite and very helpful as long as you understand that we are all people and some times we make mistakes too. so go in with a happy face be pationt and ride that wave baby.
