My mother applied as a skilled worker, in 2004. At that time, I was 19, still under my father’s sponsorship, had just graduated college, and was applying as her dependant. Since submitting our papers, I have started working full time and even changed my sponsorship to my company’s in accordance with the local residency laws of my country. Just recently, the immigration authorities have asked for a status update and our lawyers mentioned that we should not show that I have been working since then, as I would not be considered her dependant. I want to go to Canada for my MBA, but I am unsure of what to do, as my last application form said that since 2004 I have been studying for my MBA entrance, and doing part time work, however the immigration authorities have seen my employment visa in my passport (as an ‘Accountant’) and now doubt the authenticity. They have now asked for an explanation regarding this discrepancy and we are very confused about what to do/say..would appreciate any info!
Answer:
if you lie and canada finds out you have no chance of ever getting in. the dependancy rules are on www.cic.gc.ca you are too old and not under the legal dependant term now. if you had not worked you had a chance. you can apply on your own now. stupid lying lawyer.
www.cic.gc.ca is the official immigration site for the govt. search it well as the answers are all there. just put in the effort.
