Why USA makes the green card process so difficult for legal foreigners?

i feel you brotha.. you do a lot of hard work and it seems like its for nothing. but u also have to realize good things come for those who wait. ya its frustrating and might get u angry at times, but ur letting the system beat u. i believe the waiting process shouldnt be too long.. ppl like you, and me could easily be checked by computer due to our records in school and other sorts of things we have records on.. how hard is it to type a name down on a computer, look into their records and determine wether he/she is approved.. those who dont have any type of record, which most ppl do, should be the ones who should take a little longer to check since they are practically invisable to the country. its only logic.. but like i said, the system works a certain way for its reasons so jus work with it. wait and be patient and ull see that good things will come, more than what u expect.

The system is cumbersome due to the massive amount of fraud. Each application must be carefully checked and often investigated.
There are limits on how many can come, it isn't just a matter of 'who' but how many each year. Green cards give ability to petition for family, and that brings more, who bring more...
It is a quota and numbers thing.
I know your feeling. I'm American and tried to move to the UK. It backfired miserably & I only got to live there for 4 years before they said they wouldn't let us renew our work visas (despite the supposed teacher shortage).
This is just a part of immigrating, honey. Governmental statutes keep out legitimate people who want to work & contribute, but give grace to people who drain the system.
