What do you think of immigration by marriage of convenience that scams the citizen of the well off country?

I think negatively of such marriages.
I feel that you should have to hold a job and stay married to stay here for at least 5 years to show that you actually tried to make thing work. by then you have a kid and have to pay child support any way
I think it's bad.
It happened to my son but the girl was from Europe. A very sad thing, he cared about her but as soon as she was good to go with green card and plane ticket to America, it was all over.He is still messed up over it It has been around 3 years now.
i think the person from the "wealthy" country is naive and should b sure of the other persons intentions. for example, if they're hounding u for a grenn card, visa, etc.. then a light should go off and plus they should wait until they've been w/this person for some time before jumping into a scam marriage or even teh immigration process.
These scam marriages are easily detected. Once you are under examination to see if your marriage is legitimate you are asked very personal questions that only a person who had feelings for would know. Granted that some do slip through the system but most do not. The two are seperated and asked how many times a week do you have sex, what kind of underwear does your spouse where, when does your wife have her period.... These questions go on and on. It is very difficult to prove an actual marriage for love and not for papers. I think it is sad that someone would want to sink to such measures just to try and have a chance. But alot you do not realize what one will do to get food on the table, or get your grandmother the desperately needed medicine she needs. I hope that this country never ever ends up like that.
