Are people naive or just that young ?
Answer:
I personally am a little on the young side, 26 but I think what you are noticing is that the illegal immigrants are moving into states that have not had illegal immigration issues before, for example I am from a sanctuary city (some say no but trust me its yes) once the word gets out you are illegal immigrant friendly it causes a rush of people and we have had little time to adjust. I guess we are just not used to dealing with illegal immigrants, that was always California's problem or Florida, Texas. Not any more, our school system is loaded to capacity and bursting at the seams since word got out that we are a sanctuary city.
I think a lot of the times people live in different parts of the country, some are hugely affected by the issue and some places do not even have illegal immigrants. I think it would be hard for people in lets say Kansas or Ohio to empathize with those in Texas or California because the do not have those issues.
Not only that, but their cheap labor is supporting our agricultural industries. It amazes me how short-sighted prejudice makes people.
5 years ago i didn't have to press 1 for English
we had a mexican problem in 1913.
History repeats itself over and over and over.
The difference is politics.
They must mean before my Jewish grandparents came here illegally in the 30s when America wouldn't let Jews in even though they were getting killed by the millions in Europe.
The difference today compared to 10 years ago? Lots of their babies growing up and slowing down classes. ESL in public schools?!?!? Thats just wrong!
Funny, after reading this paragraph I can't help but wonder if you are naive or just young.
The picture you have in your mind is correct. They are pouring over the border, encouraged by the prospect of amnesty and lack of immigration enforcement. They have not always been here, especially in such vast numbers.
Who is saying they just arrived here? To my knowlage, no one. Does the fact that they came here a number of years ago make that right. If I kill someone now, and I run, is that murder any less wrong 10 years from now? Use the same logic here, they were breaking our laws years ago, and they're breaking our laws now, the problem is that these laws aren't enforced. On that note, many haven't always been here. Many came over in the last few years as well (maybe not the majority, but many). An inclusion of illegals in our economy is not overly healthy for our country. To sum it up, there is no differance now as opposed to years ago.
people are naive and believe what they want to believe.
You must not live in the American southwest. It has been bad for more than 20 years.
did you read about hospitals are closing down because they can't bare the costs for illegals who get treatment and leave the bills unpaid? did you read about the gangs and criminal activities involving illegals? did you read about the financial burdens put on the educational system by illegals, most of whom DO NOT PAY TAX?
Modern technology and transportation has made it easier for illegals to cross the border and forge documents. Meanwhile, we have the technological capability to stop them. That's the difference.
I think they are extremely naive. They just say things that are not true. I have never seen so many people make stuff up to justify there stance on immigration. I have no problem with anyone that is against what I believe, but use facts to make your case.
No , people are not naive, they are just waking up, and Thank
God . Those Anti American Rallies, with all the Flag Waving
was just the Ticket. I Love my Country, too much, to see Illegals, running Rampant, waving their Flag, in our Country.

Well, not exactly. They come here in droves daily. They can be seen charging the borders every day of the week. In 1986 the amnesty was given to 3 million illegal aliens who lived in the USA at the time. There was supposed to be a strengthening of the laws at that time and there was a reinforcement of the laws in 1996 while giving children born on US soil automatic citizenship. Over the 20 year period, largely due to the failure of the U.S. Government to enforce the laws it passed and its failure to secure our borders, these people were able to increase their numbers to between 12 and 20 million today. Our actual spendable income has declined over the past 15 years. 15 years ago the median income in the USA was $40,000 according to reports. A few days ago in USA Today, the median income is reported to be $40,000. While this seems to indicate that there is no change, the fact is that costs have gone up exponentially and therefore spendable income has gone way down. Additionally, particularly Hispanics and Latinos are increasingly replacing American Workers in Factory and Warehouse Jobs that the Americans have held for 15 or more years. The company hires a Hispanic or Latino and that manager or employee begins to systematically accuse the U.S. Citizens of doing things wrong or accuses the Citizen of being a racist or making a racist comment and then that person is fired and replaced by a Hispanic friend or family member. We have documentation of this. (And be sure that this is not limited to Hispanics. Asians who own businesses in the USA are not hiring U.S. Citizens. The same goes for Muslims who are intolerant of U.S. religions and practices. They are openly discriminating against U.S. Citizens and we have a few of these cases in our files as well.) We also have copies of complaints that were given to us by U.S. Citizens who were required to learn Spanish in order to keep their jobs and who were replaced by Hispanics despite learning the language. Some of these cases are currently pending so we can't give actual names and cities but we can relate the generalities of them. U.S. Citizens have had their jobs outsourced and many are losing their homes that they've lived in for 15 or more years due to having lost their jobs and their income. The illegal aliens are telling us that they aren't making any money but yet they still manage to send 50% or more of their income back to their countries of origin. Would someone please explain to the U.S. Citizens how these people, if they are making so little money and if they are not living off taxpayers, can send 50% of their income back to their countries of origin? This is organized crime at its finest and we U.S. Citizens have been succored in. The Citizens did not realize that the government was not enforcing the laws until the numbers of illegal immigrants were reported and the illegal immigrant lawbreakers were marching in our streets and holing up in churches and stealing identities. Police reports show a huge increase in gang activity, particulary Hispanic and Latino Gangs. This cannot be healthy for the USA. Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in the USA and is costing billions of dollars annually. When taxpayers foot the bills for the children of illegal aliens who are guaranteed a free education through high school and are often guaranteed free lunches, while their children are denied access and a free education through high school, it becomes readily apparent to all of us that see the $500 to $1000 annual increases in our real estate taxes and our school fees and our food bills and our loss of jobs that these people are draining us dry and that we are being "snowed" by false and fraudulent publicity. In Illinois, Governor Rod Blagojevich ensures that illegal aliens can get home loans through I loans and grants. These loans are secured by our tax dollars. Our government has committed treason against the U.S. Citizens and has, by even promoting Sanctuary Cities while failing to uphold the laws they pass, literally given our country away to lawbreakers. These are irrefutable facts that can be verified even on the pro-illegal immigrant websites and through the sheer increase in numbers of illegal aliens roaming our streets, breaking our laws, and demanding more rights to continue their anarchy and tyranny. The indisputable fact is that 9/11/01 probably wouldn't or couldn't have happend if the Government had been enforcing our immigration laws -- 19 illegal immigrants attacked our country on 9/11/01. Nearly all of the Fort Dix Six were illegal aliens. We have no idea how many of these terrorists have become citizens and how many are still lurking and doing their evil deeds. We do know that La Raza is teaching their children to be revolutionaries at taxpayers' expense and that our government has continued to allow Presidents of subversive groups to hole up in Churches and give press conferences despite the fact that these people had been deported at least once and have committed fraud and other crimes. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am not willing to sell my soul to the devils of illegals, lawbreaking people who are teaching their children their evil ways. I am not willing to allow this country -- the country that I fought for, that my father and brothers and uncles and aunts fought for to be destroyed by lawless people and a treasonous government. We are working for change and complete unknowns and unconnecteds to be elected to our government offices. We are working to ensure that the sun will shine on bad politicians and they will be placed in jail for their crimes. Exposure today, punish tomorrow, while securing our borders and isolating illegal aliens and keeping tabs on them. It is our duty to ensure that the government does its job.
It is by far and away an invasion. And it was mainly since Bush took office. There were never this many illegals around. Everywhere you turn, you can't go any where without running into a dozen of them.
To address your issue with health care, do you live and work in a border state or area with a high influx of illegal aliens?
Saul Diaz was a penniless, unemployed, uninsured illegal alien living in Georgia when he was severely injured in a car accident. During his yearlong hospitalization, Diaz racked up $1 million in medical expenses.
Anyone who has to go to the emergency department of a hospital in any big city in practically any state knows that this is the case; emergency rooms are flooded with illegals who are there to get routine care. The hospitals are forced--by government--to treat them without being able to charge them, and the costs are being passed on to Americans who have health insurance.
Because illegal immigrants, unlike those who are legally admitted for permanent residence, undergo no medical screening to assure that they are not bearing contagious diseases, the rapidly swelling population of illegal aliens in our country has also set off a resurgence of contagious diseases that had been totally or nearly eradicated by our public health system.
A significant portion of rising health premiums is due to subsidizing the medical costs of uninsured illegal aliens.
As detailed in Illegal aliens threaten U.S. medical system between 1993 and 2003, 60 California hospitals closed because half their services were unpaid. Another 24 California hospitals are on the verge of closure. Both PA and NJ hospitals recently reported that they provided almost $2 billion in free emergency and short term care services, in large part to illegal aliens. Minnesota county commissioners say that the cost of medical care for uninsured immigrants is too high for local governments to bear and they expect a $4.2 billion budget shortfall over the next two years. NC has about $1.4 billion in un-reimbursed hospital expenses annually. The Texas Hospital Association directly spent $393 million treating illegal aliens in 2002. One third of the patients treated by the LA County Health System are illegal aliens and the system is facing a $300 million deficient. In AZ, the Southeast Arizona Medical Center had a $1 billion shortfall and recently filled for bankruptcy.
Don't blame underinsured Americans...hospitals hire collection agencies to sue them, not illegal aliens.
