With all the hassle of getting a fiance visa, is it better for a US citizen & a UK citizen to marry else where

The cost & paper work of fiance & marriage visas are so expensive for both sides...would it be easier for the couple to marry else than US or UK? Would it be legal for either one of their home countries? I know that we'd still have to go through the marriage visa douments.

Can we marry somewhere like France, Mexico or wherever...& not go through any trouble when we apply for a marriage visa? (I'd be moving to UK/)

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am new to the fiance/marriage visa paperwork & dont know who to turn to. If someone can direct me to a website is relevent to my question...or good advice, I'll appreciate it.

It really depends on where you intend living. It would be easier for a US citizen to move to the UK than it is for a UK citizen to move to the USA.

You can come over as a visitor to the UK and get married or your fiancé can go to the USA and get married on a 3 month visa waiver. If you intend to live in the UK your Entry clearance visa will cost you $1050 that will allow you to stay in the UK for 2 years. Before that runs out you have to make an appointment with the Home office for your interview for residency. If your paperwork is all correct then there will be no problem. A residency visa costs £500 ($1000). Marriage between two countries residents IS expensive. But I have been there and have proved that it works.

I have also helped another couple settle in the UK just by explaining to them how the system works (thanks to our experiences) I have two other couples I am helping both hope to be here in the next few months. If I can help you further let me know.
