As a Scotsman living in the USA, I'm watching this closely. Firstly, lets not jumpt to conclusions about who these people are and who they represent. A few English police forces have jumped the gun lately. It will take a few days for reliable information to come out. Remember there are reporting restrictions when people are arrested in Scotland. That is done to help ensure a fair trial. Judges come down hard on anyone who "Does a Nifong," and it is usually before the event, not after it.
I trust the Scottish justice system to get this right. However, the wheels of justice do seem to grind slowly (they don't - a trial is due in 110 days unless either side can show cause for a postponement).
Perhaps we should all be thankful that something as simple as a concrete bollard stopped serious loss of life. It made Hitler think twice. There's a message there, I think.
Sometimes I wonder if I am missing the point somewhere because, when 9/11 took shape, the decent folk who died were victims of an old twat with Asian origins and it is the Asian Muslims who are instigating these attacks on England. I do not go for political correctness because it gives minority factions the chance to spout their hate and vitriolic crap out in the open without fear of getting lifted by the cops. However, if you say a single word of threat towards the Muslim community the boys in blue would show up at your home, lift you and shove you in jail while Muhammad Von shite head is grinning when the twat should be head shot. I do not care what happens to the west and its people anymore because this awful behaviour is almost certainly being carried out by people who were brought up here. When the USA suffers its next atrocity, the weeping and wailing will just continue as before and, let's face it, Osama bin Laden is laughing at you.
