Because many are either illegal or just refuse to assimilate. If you know a lot of Mexicans, then you've found out most of them are more loyal to Mexico and its interests than they ever will be to America. They romanticize the place, ignoring its oppressive and corrupt power structure. With all that national pride, I can't figure out why they are literally risking their lives to get into our country.
Since they don't buy into the American culture because they think it's so racist, elitist, whatever.... then they continue to live in their native 3rd world fashion. Ghettos, unskilled labor, no education, pollution, gang violence. Wanna know where the proof is right?

There are many factors that drive Mexicans to crime in this country. For one, we are adopting stricter penalties for employing illegal immigrants. By taking away jobs, we are forcing Mexicans who need to provide for their families here and back home into lives of crime. If we welcomed them into our society, this would not be as much of a problem.
We now have a very lenient society which was quite different fro 100 years ago when the US had a massive influx of immigrants from the US. Those immigrants wanted to be Americans and were willing to follow our laws (the majority, not all of them) and assimilate into American society. The Mexicans just want the dollar and the benefits without the taxes. Hell, if I was uneducated and Mexican, I'd be running to CA for a free college education on the CA taxpayers bill. Now, with 30 years of bleeding heart, permissive liberal politics, we have a major problem. Western Europe learned the same lesson in the 90's.
Because most of them come from border towns and have nothing but the moment and think they can never have the American dream.So they come here illegally just for the money they can earn.
Because Mexicans only have to sneak in across a few miles of desert. Others have to pay fees like $20,000. So, more of them come in, and more criminals, just by average.

did you know that many parts of the us belonged to Mexico first....like California, Nevada, and Utah, most of Arizona and New Mexico, and parts of Wyoming and Colorado. So they are not really immigrants to start...and they have always been there. You cant descriminate because if you are going to break down what about men and women..men are always the perpetrators so I cant say all men are criminals...So that is why you cant group people..there are good and bad in all. grouping is descriminatory

First provide me with reliable sources (by reliable I mean from neutral and educated people, not Lou Dobbs). Secondly, just by the way you type I can tell that you don't know jack about history. The same resentment against Mexicans nowadays is very comparable to the one against Irish people in the past. They were "all drunkards, thieves, and dirty." Oh, and don't make me have to bring up the Italians who were "all gangsters." See what I mean? Right now all the focus is on Mexican immigrants because they are the majority, but later on it may be Hindi, Chinese, or Middle-Easterners.
Your right . I know first hand , my daughter married one and could I tell you stories about going to Mexico with him to bring his family back . She almost died and they left her without any help , when they got what they wanted , a way into the US .
They don't assimilate very well . They only come here to send money home .

It's because they cross a river to get here. They don't pay taxes because they are illigal. Yet their kids get a free education in our country. We pay for their food stamps and everything else this country gives them out of our tax dollars. This is wrong. There are lots of american citizens that are homeless and hungry, yet our country does little to help them. This United States of America needs to first of all help the people born here. If there's money left over then help the people who don't belong here. Best of all send them all back where they came from. I'd llike my tax dollars to go to help our native born citizens.

My answer: Probably because they know another language and speak it in front of Americans that don't know what they're saying and Americans take it the wrong way. Americans probably feel threatend that there are starting to be so many Hispanics coming to America and so many stores that are mainly for Hispanic people to shop at. Also because they feel they have learn Spanish to keep from being..."paranoid" ...(correct me if I'm wrong) when they hear it so that they are aware of what's going on around them.
