Answer:
Flag worship. So many in this country, hold the flag in such high esteem, if you question it, you are deemed a traitor. I worship a living God in Heaven, not a piece of cloth.
The evidence that we literally worship the flag is overwhelming. Unique among all nations, we have a Flag Day, a Flag code etiquette, a national anthem dedicated to the flag and a verbal salute to the flag. Twenty-seven states require school children to salute the flag daily.
Some might argue that we are simply saluting a symbol, that we are actually pledging allegiance to our country. But the words tell a different story. "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of American, and to the republic for which it stands." The insertion of the word "and" makes clear that the flag and the republic are two different entities. We are pledging allegiance to the flag itself.
My husband brought it in from the rain and wind outside now..It will go back outside when the weather clears.
.
I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands,
one Nation under God,
indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Quote it entirely, midcenturywhateveryouare, "and" is an inclusive word, not exclusive. The pledge honors both the symbol and the republic as well God.
I've always thought flying a multicolor rag is rather pointless, whatever the gang, country, etc. it's supposed to represent.
Rain and wind, don't want it to get torn up. Most beautiful colors in the world huh?
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
I don't see a point in putting up a flag. I don't need a piece of fabric to show that I support my country. I don't say the pledge in school either because it seems like something that a dictator would force the citizens to do to make sure that they support the country. That's the difference between the United States and a dictatorship, citizens have the right to choose if they want to put up a flag or say a pledge. Anyone who puts down people for not having a flag or saying the pledge is anti-american because you are undermining the very freedoms and liberties that every American should have. I also think it is important to teach people that it is not necessary to have flags or say the pledge, and there are better and more effective ways to show that we support the welfare of America, such as donating money to charities, making food for the homeless, and protecting our environment. just think about that. I love looking at the fact that my answer received 3 thumbs down. My answer is the only intelligent and thought out one and actually is taken from the law and represents the good will of the citizens. People are too stubborn to recognize that you should put all citizens before yourself.
i do not believe i need to raise a flag to represent my country! @_@
My American Flag is flying high!
Mine is flying.according to the housing codes of the area. So it's not high since there is a limit. But it is legal and within all restrictions.
My AMERICAN flag is always flying high no matter what!
Our country is not about a flag. It is about a constitution. Our military pledges to support and defend the constitution!! No flag is as important as the set of laws drawn up in the constitution. Drag the flag around if you like but don't try to trample on the freedoms and liberties given to each and every one of us in our constitution.
I don't have one.
Oh yes.
Always.
:D
yes my flags are flying high, come from a very patrotic family, all were or are military people. i love this country but its in trouble and it takes people with guts enough to speak up, to get us back on track. whhooorrrraa
