What do you think will happen - - - ?

What do you expect to happen if amnesty is given the illegal immigrants in the United States? Some say it will improve our economy. Some say it will result in more illegals entering the U.S. some say we can not survive without them, some say the reason this is happening is because American employers pay them less wages and do not pay benefits or taxes on them. Some say if amnesty is given to illegal aliens then U S citizens should expect amnesty for their crimes also! Some say many of our business will shut down without the illegals. What is your opinion: not what your friends have told you or what you may have heard but your honest opinion!

Answer:
I have no problem with people from other countries wanting a better life. I think it's great that they choose the United States.

My problem is with people who come here illegally and the government that does nothing about it except try to pass legislation that sweeps the problem under the carpet, instead of doing their job by enforcing the laws that we do have.

We simply cannot take on everyone that wants to come here. That is why we have a process. That is why we have quotas.
Anything else is unacceptable.

I really believe that illegals do not benefit us. If there are jobs that Americans won't do, then reform the entitlement programs, and you probably will have enough Americans to fill those jobs.

Yes, it will result in more illegals coming in, just look at how well the 1986 law worked.

Yes, employers do pay them less and under the table. That is illegal and does not benefit the country.


I am sickened by this whole mess, and people who support this legislation make me even sicker.
I haven't heard enough evidence to get me off the fence yet. It will boil down to what is the best financial move for me.
It was actually stated the over the course of 20-30 years this bill (if passed) would cost the tax payers trillions, yes trillions of dollars.
Wages will continue to be depressed, millions more will sneak across the border illegally because the laws will not be enforced, the middle class will disappear, crime rates will rise, test scores at schools will continue to drop, health care system will get even worse,... need I go on? In a nutshell, this once great country will turn into a third world cesspool.
Our economic system, society and government will more closely resemble that of Mexico. The mix of unassimilated cultures will increase ethnic tensions, like in Yugoslavia.
I think it will be a happy day for all who just want to pursue the American Dream.
those anti-illegals will love them because they won't be "illegal" anymore and they will have to pay taxes.
