NZ citizens H1B visa?

Is the H1B visa cap applicable for NZ citizens. Or is there a country wise quota for H1B visas

Answer:
there are a maximum of 65000 H1B visas available in a calendar year for the entire US. This is broken down into various subgroupings based on country of application.

Approximately 95 percent of those issued require US application; the remainder are spread out worldwide. New Zealand is lumped in with the rest of southeast Asia, including Australia, Malaysia, the Phillippines, Hong Kong, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos (I think I got them all, there may be some I missed). Other major 'groups' include Japan-China, Europe, Africa, and India-Pakistan.

With the number of applications received on April 1 2007 already at 258000 ... there are no more H1Bs available until April 1 2008. And no, this year's application does not carry over to next year's lottery.
I think that the limit is worldwide.
Yes, the H1-B visa cap is applicable for NZ citizen. From 65000 visa cap over 6000 are reserved for Peru and Singapore Citizen, because of the fair trade agreement. But if there are unused visa from this it will be added to other country visa cap. You can be exempt from visa cap, if the job are for nonprofit organization, or related to education (you can find it clearly at www.uscis.gov)
